Onyx 4880 48 channel mixer
Are you actually sending a signal to the effects unit? normally you would have it in an insert although I know some people who take a sub channel out to the effects unit and then feed it back in through a mix channel if they run out of inserts or aux busses. What you describe above does not make sense to me. Can you elaborate with the full signal path for the effects unit?

Static on left side of output
Loose connection or fader/pot needing cleaning. Try selective tapping and wobbling until you locate it. You could try contact cleaner if it's a pot/fader otherwise it's out with the iron unless it's just a loose lead internally.

My Mackie 1400i thumps when I turn it on
Do the protect lights light up when you turn it on? There is a soft start circuit that should delay for about 3 seconds when powering it up, it sounds as if this is not working. If you don't get the protect lights for a second or so when turning it on then this has failed and you need to get it serviced and repaired before more goes wrong.

How do i setup my
Please view videos on YouTube. Search for "mixer setup". There are a bunch, and the information and techniqes are the same for almost any of the analog mixers. You might refine the search to Mackie mixers.

Looking for sliders for mackie 1402 vlz pro how much are they?
You can purchase the channel faders directly from Mackie Service Dept., you can replace them yourself if you're good at soldering - HOWEVER, be advised that disassembling the unit to get at the faders to replace them will require a lot of time and patience if you've never done it before. If the faders are not moving smoothly, it's possible that the wrong type of cleaning spray was used on them and there's a possibility that they could stop moving and controlling sound.
