You have to get into its service mode options to make this TV to its original factory default settings. But, entering into its service mode option and adjust the data values there is a very skilled work. You must have through knowledge in electronics to follow. if you have, visit this site named 'Electro-help'. Service mode entry and adjustments of almost all brads of TVs are described there in detail. Check this
link and select the site, and pull up older posts there. There are details over more than 525 brands. It will be easy to have a search for your brand, by selecting the 'Flipcard' option, from the drop down box at the top left corner of the display window. Just check, and determine yourself, whether you can do this or not. If you are not confident, never touch this option, as it might make TV irresponsive to any external commands, if any of the critical value has been changed wrongly.
How can i change the password on panasonic tv if i
Hello
You just do this to unlock your Panasonic TV, and after unlocking it reset the password.
Panasonic sets need to be reset to clear the v-chip settings. To do this, put it in standby mode, then press the POWER and ACTION buttons at the same time and then turn the power off. The set should reset to the factory defaults, and reset the v-chip.
OK.

Your TV problem is usually because solder connections to the vertical output integrated circuit go bad. A few minutes with a soldering iron is a quick fix. It is possible that the IC or other parts have failed, but the soldering is so common it would be the best place to start.
I've been out of the everyday shop end of TV service for 10 years now, so I don't know what kind of rates are typical. Maybe there's another servicer you can call who has a more reasonable minimum charge. For big sets like yours people usually called for home service so we had a trip charge and minimum labor. If there were no other problems, your set would have cost $79 to fix. If that $95 charge is just to look it over and then the labor and parts are additional, you might want to consider a new TV. I've seen 42-inch LCDs advertised around here for about $600. If a repair is going to cost $150 or more, it might be better to put some extra toward a new one with a warranty.

If the line is in the middle of the screen from left to right you have a problem in the Vertical circuit of the set.
The good news here is usually this is caused by pins on the vertical
output IC chip breaking loose from the board; it happens with age and
heat--most of the time the pins on the chip just need to be re-soldered
to correct the problem. In the model you have indicated it is a small black IC--location number on the board for it is IC451 and the generic number which will be printed on the front of the chip is LA7838. This is a very common problem with these sets--sometimes if you tap on the set the picture will open up. There are less than 9 pins on most of these chips--You will have to get the board out (Usually slides out and you may have to unplug speaker leads and another small plug to do it). If you cannot do it, it should be an inexpensive repair for anyone to do. Even if the IC itself was bad--they are less than 6 dollars on several sites on the internet. 9 out of 10 times you will find bad connections on the pins for it and that will cure the problem. Let me know if you have any questions or need help---I am here to help you. SD TECH

HI thee,
Well first of all you can try to reset you TV, Just turn it off from the main power board and left it for 24 hours after 24 hours just check it again....... this procedure helps you to reset the TV to factory default settings........ please post comments if further you have the same problem........
Good Luck!!
Thanks
Bought a this used tv and set it up to cable but
On the remote press the middle button in the arrow keys area (round part of remote) to access the menus.
Go to the one on the bottom row to far right (set).and press that center (select) button again..
Go to Prog Chan and select this option.
Go to mode and make sure that "cable" is selected.
Ensure the cable connection is properly attached to the tv.
Select Auto Program and wait for it to complete its search.
Upon completion of its cycle you should have all you available channels
Good Luck.
No vertical deflection,only a thin horizontal line.
Hello dede27,
I suspect you have some background in electronics so I'll ask you some questions.
First, I know that you changed the output ic and a capacitor, the capacitor caused excessive beam current, that's bad, remember that beam current is dangerous because it can produce X-Rays. Remember to use the exact value of parts for X-Ray generating areas of the TV. So replace the C555 with the rated value by the manufacture.
As far as the vertical deflection problem it sounds like you may have a shorted vertical deflection coil (part of the yoke transformer). I would suggest testing the coil to see if it is shorted (A ring test will determine this). The Sencore LC102 has a ring test feature or you can lookup how to build a simple ring tester. In any event replace the IC and test the yoke transformer for shorts on the vertical winding.
I hope this helps,
Thank you,

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
A few ideas you may want to consider/explore;
- While it is true that capacitors do dry out, the values that you posted (22uF & 32uF) are relatively low for the pump/boost capacitor which is responsible for the "top of the picture was a couple of inches short". Normally this should be around 100uF connected between pin8 & pin 12 of LA7836;
- agree that the Vertical IC LA7836 is busted hence the single line;
- in most vertical designs, there would be a diode from pin7 that goes to pin12 that needs looking into for a leak;
- pin7 is the Vert B+ ~ 24VDC while pin1 is secondary B+ 9 ~ 12 VDC. In some designs to accomplish this, there is a dropping resistor from pin 7 to pin 1 and sometimes a zener diode from pin1 to GND parallel with a filter capacitor;
- pin11 is the vertical output that goes to the yoke. From the yoke some design uses another capacitor (about 1000uF) before going to the ground through a low resistor (~ 1 ohm);
- above mentioned parts need to be checked out of ciruit preferable and special attention to possible leaks of the diode when testing in reverse bias mode.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
Need to program tv into remote
At universal remote control i.e URC22-9A:
Suitable codes for panasonic TV:
Try 001,003,019,037,040,106,110.111,112,114,190,241
or see booklet of your remote control.
Weird TV
the audio is perfect, but the screen vertically squeezes to about a quarter of an inch and stays horizontally regular.
it is due to vertical section of your tv has failed.
it is a common problem
if you are not a tech person call tech to fix it.
solution
1 check vertical section supply.
2 check components in vrtical output stage.
3 check vertical output ic.
4 loose contact in vertical section
it is not a major ptoblem.
good luck.
Vertical Deflection problem
i also suspect its just bad solder connections, the vert. o/p ic is maked ic451 look for all the ic's on heatsinks. it should have 10 to 15 pin all in a straight line & be attached to a small heatsink. if i remember right i think if you are looking at the tv from the back it is on the left side near the front (by the buttons/swtitches). resolder all the pins on the ic & resolder the parts just around the ic as they too also develop bad solder connections. just remember to check for shorted pins after soldering. good luck.
