If you have forgotten both you will need to restore your router to factory settings and re-add your internet details ***NOTE*** you will most likely have to contact your ISP for your account details so you can add your net details.

To restore there is a small pin hole on the back of the router with reset below it push and hold for 30secs this will revert your router back to original settings and change your login details to username: admin & password: admin. You will now need to run the setup wizard to setup your router and internet details which will allow you to input a new wep key.

Once done you will need to re-connect each device on your network with new details.

If you reset the router and have not turned off and back on all your devices you probably have conflicting addresses. some versions of ps3 will not connect for some reason unless they have the first ip available on the router.Turn off your wirelss on your iphone and ipad, turn off the ps3. Reboot the router when it comes back up turn on the ps3 and get a good connection, the enable wireless on your ipad or iphone and get a connection the doe the same with the other.This will avoid conflicting addresses.An IP address has a 24 hour lease if you reboot a router it forgets what device had whipch ip address. If you need to reboot your router you need to refresh the ip address of all your devices to avoid conflicting ip's.In this case I suspect you ipad and iphone are attempting to use the same ip address.

• Find the Diagnostics option and click on it.

could BE A BAD WIRE ID CHECK WITH A NEW ETHERNET WIRE. OR TEST LIGHT BY DISCONNECTING AND IF IT LIGHT UP STANDALONE THEN ITS A CONNECTION ISSUE.

Welcome to Fixya. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access your router you need to use a computer that is connected to it. Open a Browser then type 192.168.2.1 The Default password is smcadmin. Password is case sensitive. Click on Wireless and then select Security. You can now change the security settings of your router. Check the configuration of your wirelss router.

You need to log into the wireless router either by a computer that successfully connects wirelessly or by physically connecting with an ethernet cable. Once connected, log into the router by open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari), and typing the router's address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into the Address (or URL) line. The default usernameand password is usually "admin" & "admin" or "admin" & "password". Once successfully logged in, look for a tab or link that says "Wireless" or "Security". You'll be able to change whether security is enabled or disabled, and the password associated with it. Your security options are WEP or WPA (or WPA-PSK). WPA-PSK is the most secure, but WEP is also an acceptable choice. Select the security option of your choice and either enter text into the passphrase generator or choose your own password and type it into one of the security key text fields. If you use a password that is not a plain english combination of letters and numbers, be sure to write it down so that you can enter it as needed on other wireless devices that need to access your router (ie-pda phones, game consoles, laptops, desktops, etc). Be sure to save changes so that the security settings and password is saved.

Have you checked the encryption type, and verified that you have set aes or tkip correctly to match your router? That would be my first guess.
My second guess is that you have mistyped your passphrase or have a trailing space in one place and not in the other or a capital letter and a small letter or some other typo. Can any computers or phones connect to the wi-fi with wpa on? You could try WEP, even though it is laughably weak, since the key is in hex and not therefore misinterpretable, just to see whether any encryption will work.
But my first guess is encryption type (assuming that it is not detecting it, like my cellphone and PS/3 do).

Sounds like the router is about to die. I had the same issue with a wireless router a few years ago. It would broadcast but I would not be able to get onto the wireless no matter what I did but plugging straight into the modem and it worked just fine. If you've done a hard reset and it is still not connecting or staying connected, it is about time to replace the router.

You have to connect directly to and log into the router and turn the wireless back on

reset router and proceed to setup security as you had before, connect to router w/hardwire first since you cannot config password on wireless - you will get disconnect

It sounds like what you want to do is have your web browser display a page when you open it... this is called setting your home page...

If you use MS Internet Explorer then
1) Go to the tools menu
2) Go to internet options
3) at the top set your home page
4) Press apply and ok
5) Now press the home button - this is the page Internet Explorer will display whenever you open it

Are you trying to configure the router wirelessly. Connect your computer to the router with a lan cable and then access the router and change its wireless settings. since you cannot change the wireless settings wirelessly as you will get disconnected.
