Yamaha PSR-S700 ARRANGER WORKSTATION Keyboards/Midi - Page 8 Questions & Answers
I have a yamaha p-155 88 key digital piano the upper octave has no sound
Try local Yamaha dealer. They may not make house calls, few people these days do.What you might try if you are up to the challenge is flip the keyboard over- unplug it. remove the screws that hold the top and bottom shells together- do not let weight of unit rest on keys, especially when opening it up.Look for physical damage to the keyboard action in the vicinity of the nonfunctional section. Check for broken printed circuit board. If you see any cracks, see where it ends and drill a small hole at the end of the crack to halt propagation. clean the varnish off the circuit tracks and tin the broken tracks first on either side of the break then bridge them with solder. Use a modest sized soldering iron and small diameter (rosin core only) solder. If there are any broken wire connections, resolder them. This may require part of the action to be removed from case- take pictures first before proceeding- make sure they show exactly where the connectors are and what wires are present. etc. You want to be able to refer to the pictures in the event you forget details of disassembly. If nothing looks out of place, look for solder joints that do not appear to have flown out nicely- reflow them adding a little solder.

Clavinova CLP-360 missing Part G Screw Set (page 1 after the Contents of Owners Manual)
First of all they are metric fasteners. The best thing to do is measure the diameter of the hole with a metric of English ruler, then measure the depth of it with something skinny Using that info go to a hardware store and look for a fastener that fits the description. There are going to be different thread sizes. Get one of each and try them out to see what is the right one.

My Yamaha electric piano, P80, will not power up
first - check the power supply if it's really giving power.
Get voltmeter or plug it to something else you know it's working.
If you are sure it does and still nothing, you need to check the fuse inside the P80. I've been there, it's not so hard to open it
(from below of course)
BTW, it's advisable to user surge protector on such delicate devices like computers and keyboards if there are any fuses that have blown. I can't tell you how many times a blown fuse has stopped equipment from working. I had a blown fuse go in a microwave oven a few years back. I called a repair guy while on a job to fix my Leslie (many years ago) and the culprit, a blown fuse. I could have fied it myself if I had given it more thought.
Check the internal fuses first and you might save some money and a trip to a repair center. , sometimes a fuse can look good even when it is blown. If you have a voltage tester do a continuity check on the fuse just to be certain. It's possible that the P80 does not use internal fuses especially since it uses an external 12 volt power pack There might be info on the fuse in the P80 manual. Otherwise try Yamaha support. A lot of low volage gear run of AC adaptors is unfused.
Another possibility is that the power connector or switch on the P80 is broken. DC power jacks are liable to get broken solder joints due to movement, especially if they are circuit board mounted and not chassis mounted. If you know what you are doing test the connector and switch with a multimeter.
If they are good then also check the wires from the switch to the main board. They a probably connected with a plug, which itself can come lose.
You can test for bad connections with the power off. Only test with the power on if you really do know what you are doing! You won't electrocute yourself but you can easily damage the keyboard if you are not careful.
Unless you are experienced in electronics repair that is as far as you should go.

Yamaha dxg 500: some times have to press piano key multiple times to get sound. It's not always the same keys that work that way.
Yamaha's have little rubber "contact strips" that run under the keys. These strips have little rubber buttons on them, exactly like your tv remote. When you push the key down, it pushed the rubber button down and make an electrical contact. These buttons eventually fail and separate where the bottom of the button meets the strip. You have to replace the strip (different sizes, depending on where on the keyboard it is) but they aren't cheap. You can find them here http://syntaur.com/yamaha_psr.html but sometimes you can find someone selling them on ebay cheaper. If you only need a single strip, or maybe two, it's probabaly worth it. More strips than that and you may find it cheaper to buy someone's broken keyboard on ebay and take the strips out, especially if it's broken for a different reason, like won't power up.
