• FYI - The division of GE division that produced the GE Superadio III was acquired by RCA who re-branded this radio as the RCA Superadio. The RCA super radio and the GE super radio III are the same radio.
• This radio utilizes a 38" Swivel Whip Antenna
• What you want to do is buy this antenna (or one like it) http://www.hamcq.com/vhf-uhf-scanner-handheld-hdtv-antennas/telescoping-swivel-antenna-with-bnc-connector/prod_383.html and remove that little screw off of the end and install it on your radio.

There is no fuse, have a look at the transformer.

the volume control needs to be cleaned. if you can carefully take the back off, the volume control may have some small openings in the housing. spray contact cleaner (or even a small amount of wd40) in it and work the control back and forth and see if that does it

Mine has a bad transformer, but I am having a hard time finding a replacement. This is due to the fluctuating voltage of the job site generator.
