The most probable cause it broken solder connections on the headphone/ext speaker jacks.
If you know someone who can solder fine detail parts...have them try.
I dont know what a TV shop would charge but it DOES need fixing

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.

If the player does this on any DVD then, I'm sorry to say, the screen is broken and it's cheaper to buy a new one.

Unfortunately, you are probably dealing with a copy protection issue. The digital handshake can't be returned by your KLV3913. You get the same issue if you connect a HDMI source (Blu-ray player) to a VGA monitor. I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells

Jim, First thing I would do is try a different DVD to see if the problem persists. Otherwise, this device is equipped with integrated speakers, meaning it is unlikely that you will be able to replace them. I I had a similar problem. What worked for me, was resetting the player. By pressing the picture button on the player itself three or four times I got to the reset option. Press play when it says press ok to reset. My remote automatically started working at that point. Hope this works for you

are you using the right remote, one time i tried to change things and come to find out it was on the dvd not the tv
