SAMSUNG DIGIMAX A6
I always google the name with the world manual after it , It usually works good luck and I hope this helps.
Large pictures on computer screen
I wouldn't recommend it. You'll never know when you want to order prints and lowering the size settings will give poor quality. I would go with downloading
picasa http://picasa.google.com/ as it as a nice option to
re-size big pictures for emails (keeping the originals intact).

Samsung customer support may help
but If I understand you correctly you may have killed the camera
Menu function not working
Take the battery out for while and replace it, to see if it 'resets'.
If it does not then there is something you are missing- check the software Cd- there is usually a more detailed manual in PDF format.
Failing that perhaps it is sick- a repair would not be a economical thing I guess.
Software
If you have a Windows ME/2000/XP computer
you do not need any software
Windows can do it all by its self - try it.
Lines through Photos
I had a similar problem with a Casio and they directed me thru some exercises and the one that worked was removing the battery and holding down the "on" or maybe it was the "shutter" button for one FULL minute. Worked fine after reinserting the battery and taking some pictures.

Contact the Samsung Technical support for a repair opinion
Then look up your local Internet for a repair firm
Bear in mind the likely cost will be heavy.
It may be a case of you paying a lot of money for shipping/insurance/Inspection/only to find it cannot be repaired because of lack of parts.
Battery Low with NiMH (won't turn on) OK with Alkaline
Not the camera obviously - works OK
Replace the NiMah batteries- get several sets and keep one set in the bag charged with one set in the camera.
You may be able to 'refresh' the original batteries by putting them into a small flashlight and running them until the bulb goes out.
This discharges them completely- then recharge.
It is said batteries have a 'memory' so that a battery that is down say 50% and recharged will only recharge that 50% and the other 50% is lost for use. So you have to flatten the batteries completely
Saving Pictures
My camera has a setting buried in the menu somewhere and you just select "use card" instead of internal memory. There are only 2 options, internal or external. You'll find it.
How do I use the focus
be sure your lense and autofocus sensors are clean first thing.. then push the take picture button half way and it will autofocus. Pressing hte take picture button fully then will snap the picture.
