Samsung PL120 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
ES90 ZOOM DID NOT OPERAT
If your camera does not operate as you expect, just switch it off, remove the battery for a few moments and replace the battery. Then switch on again.
If you (accidentally) touched the lens barrel, while using the zoom, the camera can act strange, because it tries to protect the hardware for extra damage.
If switching of and on again, does not solve the problem, you should contact a certified Samsung repair centre.
I lost my samsung pl120 installation CD. My new system doesn't recognize my camera. How to get the basic software ?
Do you really need the Samsung software?
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa (
http://picasa.google.com ).
Update firmware
As long as Samsung does not offer a new update for the firmware, you cant' update. When you are smart enough to write your own firmware, you could flash that into the camera, but then you did not need to ask this question. For this camera Samsung did not offer an update yet.

Se me trabo el lente
HOLA A TODO EL MUNDO TENGO UNA SAMSUNG PL-120 SE ME TRABO EL CUBRE LENTE ALGUIEN SABE COMO LO PUEDO SOLUCIONAR?? O DEBO LLEVAR ALGUN SERVICIO TECNICO?
The zoom did not operate normally
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the digital hd video camera.Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera. If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.
Elf name error
hi.you only need to remove your mmc and turn on your camera again and its ok,then format your mmc and insert back to cam.and its ok again
Samsung digital cam shutter not closing fully
Since it springs back then the part of the lens that opens it is broken.
Then lens covers are very delicate, but usually reliable.
If it's still in warranty, let samsung deal with it. They can usually fix
digital hd video cameras in a couple weeks and have service centres in major cities.
If it's out of warranty, try a bit of 100% isopropyl alcohol (see your
drug store) on a Q-Tip. Swap it around the lens cover gently and then
gently force the cover open several times. The lens cover should be a
little wet from the alcohol, but not so much that there are droplets or
puddles. Have some kleenex ready just in case of a little spill. That
should help to remove any dirt inside that might be affecting the cover.
If that doesn't work and it's out of warranty, then consider repairing
it. They will charge you for an estimate ($40ish). Consider replacing
it, particularly if the repair cost exceeds 50% of the replacement cost.
How to take off front screen
There is usually two reasons you get blurred photos. 1) camera
movement and 2) subject movement ... sometimes both. This happens when
the shutter speed picked by your camera is too slow and unless you have
the
digital hd video camera on a tripod, it has some kind of image stabilization scheme
and the subject is not moving, you will get blurred images.
I am surprised you picked a camera that cannot use your old SD cards.
Did you know that only Olympus and Sony do NOT use SD cards?
,my camara wont let me view my photos it says file error
First check whether your card is 'locked'. There is a small lock swith
with your card. If it does not work, you better check with another
memory card (if you don't have anymore, borrow from your friend). If
this works, then the problem is with the card, and this is the most
probable cause. It happens sometimes. If it still doesn't work, the
fault is with the
digital hd video camera, Take it to a authorised repair shop.
