Check output via headhones - if that works try connecting outputs to amplifier i if that works. Hold down highest sounding key whilst turning on, this initiates a factory reset. If still no sound open up check speakers are connected, if still no sound then suspect the amplifier has failed.

It is usually caused by poor contacts between the keypad and the conductive rubber strip under the keys. The rubber strip comes as a complete part.

There is power from the power supply if the logo is on the screen, although it could be it isnt providing full current. Whilst the logo is displayed the machine carries out a number of checks to ensure it is working correctly. Once these checks are completed it moves to showing the voices etc. If it hangs it has found a fault and further investigation will be required.

My Yamaha P85 had a no sound problem too. I replaced the two 100uf capacitors at locations C216 and C217 on the board where the DC power plug connects. Fixed it right up.

seems to be a standard acoustic setup to me. If it doesn't have all the string pins in it, you'll need to get some. you simply pull out the pin, put the string in, then wind it up on the machine heads (tuners) On this one you may need to put the strings through from the inside, I'm not sure about this particular model. I like a double wrap to start on the bass strings, but that's a choice I make. You could go with nylon strings, get ball end, they're easier to use than plain. It takes a bit of know how to do plain, thy have to be wrapped just right on the pins.

Hi If you are talking about cleaning the rubber contacts I wouldn't bother. Once they start to fail then it is best to replace them. You can do this either for the octave giving problems or best to replace complete set. Main part is VY84670R your piano has 6 octaves of these. with a shorter part at either end.

Yes you may use it as stand alone piano. Usually everytime you will power ON any yamaha psr model piano will appear as default voice.
