Microtek scanner freezes when scanning large documents.

Try scanning using Scanwizard instead of using directly in Photoshop. If it freezes again, it might be some problem with your system since there's no indication of hardware conflict. Additional info like Microtek scanner model name and current Windows version. Normally, Adobe wont have any problem regardless the scanner model, as long the appropriate driver installed.

User receives message 'inssufficient memory to

Hi!

Are you using the the driver which came along from the CD included in the package? If so, have you tried acquiring the latest drivers and softwares from the website?

This could help you fix the issue. Well from the error itself, it means that it does not have enough memory. Could be that the wizard also requires a large one. What is the current memory capacity of the computer you are using?

Try doing the steps above, if this still does not fix the issue, notify me.

Best of luck. ;)

Microtek Scanner installation issue

If running XP SP2, then try clicking Start > right click My Computer > properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > expand Imaging devices > right click on your Microtek ScanMaker > uninstall > Re boot > and let XP pick up the device and let the found hardware wizard configure it.

I have seen plenty of hardware that when following the devices manufacturer's instructions for install, such problems as you're having occur and XP SP2 usually will cure it, though you may still need the device manufacturer's CD (for the driver) in your optical drive.

This link: http://support.microtek.com/downloads/bymodelname.phtml?viewtype=2&srch_in=ScanMaker+5950&frmsearch.x=10&frmsearch.y=11&frmsearch=Search&frm_rqst=2&axn=1 will allow you to select between the 5950 and 5950 Pro then on the next page you will be able to download the latest XP driver for your Scanmaker among drivers for other Operating Systems also.

I hope this helps, and Good luck.

Colorful lines down the scanned pages...

This could be due to excessive usage which the scanner can not tolerate and as a result the movement of the scanning mechanism losses precision. So avoid continous scanning.

Light flickering - now not even flickering

Check using a new USB cable. Unplug everything else plug into USB except for mouse and keyboard. If not work. Un-install driver and software. Download driver and latest software. Reinstall printer using driver only. Then use Paint to test it.
