Dishwasher wil not fill with water
I just troubleshooted my Electrolux dishwasher, after checking that water is actually being supplied and power is on, I removed the valve that the water connects to and dismantled it, cleaning clogs out of the trap and double checking that the solenoid actually clicks on and off (I twisted the prongs so they would fit into a standard 120 volt outlet) while cleaning and blowing on the hose end until it cleared and clicked on and off freely. Then I discovered my float switch was also faulty, after taking it apart and finding a completely corroded part that literally rusted apart! They want $34 for a new one. Since I had a VERY disappointing experience with Electrolux customer service I decided to just buy a new dishwasher from Sears and will use it until I sell the house, then swap this model back so the appliances match. I ended up bending a connector and bypassing the switch, just plugged it into the connector to test the machine, and it worked perfectly after doing these two things. The only trouble now would be if it overfilled, there is no safety shutoff switch anymore, but I found it never overfills (it must be on a timer) so as long as I am nearby to double check the level is not above the float after starting, I can still do dishes until the new unit arrives. If your switches and relays are fine then you likely have a more serious issue, as these are the only two easy fixes to check.
