Did you try boot from the CD with the OS? is it the Same? Did you replace the hard dirive with another? Is the HDD/CD disk light flashing or illuminate during power up? It should!

If you have electronic expeerience, take it to a repair shop. You can cause more damage okiong around if you don't know what you're doing. Past that, contact Korg customer service for the schematic and parts list. you can obtain undelet software to do this but do not use the machine too much before attempting the procedure, too much use might lead to the areas where data was stored becoming written over. If the data was very important I would contact a data recovery specialist, one with a proven track record. Good Luck

Probably the button mechnisms are worn. The heavily used buttons often have the plating worn off and become intermitent. Have the button mechanisms replaced. Make sure to use the long life version of the buttons.

Make sure ALL of the interconnected equipment is powered from the SAME receptacle to avoid ground loops due to the safety ground. DO NOT Use two wire power or use ground lifting plug adapters. Make sure you use balanced lines, either XLR or TRS cables. Do NOT use TS cables.

See if you can download the original "demo song" into the unit and see if the demo works. Should be able to find that on the Korg site under support.

If you contact Korg, they can send you a dowloadable link to burn the software to a disc.
