you need to remove all screws because you will complete unscrew every screw before the cause would open.
Turn of the PC3, disconnect the adapter. Turn the PC3 upside down, get a screw driver that can fit into the screws. Most time, it is a star screw driver that fits in.
Unscrew all the screw, remove all sticker(s) and check for screws. Sometimes, some screws are hidden under the sticker.
Cross check again and make sure all screws are removed.
Now, turn the PC3 back up, then lift the front case. If case is not free, use a flat screw driver to pry the case from the sides. The case might be clipped together. Use the flat screw driver head to un-clip.
Lastly, you might need to apply some force to take the case apart. But don't allow the force be too much, so that you don't break the case.

You're correct, that's a power supply problem, but it may also be the power supply connector on the keyboard. If you have access to a voltmeter, check the power supply first.

I would do a factory reset. If this fails then hardware is likely broken and will take forever to be repaired.

Hard reset procedure 1. Turn the Kurzweil off 2. Hold down the KEY START, KEY STOP, and LAYER VOLUME buttons for 5 seconds while powering the unit up, then release 3. Select RUN DIAGS 4. Press the UP arrow until the display reads RAM TEST 5. Press the START/STOP button to run the test 6. When the display reads SUCCESS, turn the unit off and back on. The unit is now reset. If your Kurzweil still does not come up to the normal screen after this procedure, it will require service.
