Hi lholton,
This symptom indicated that you have a faulty OpAmp IC in the Mix circuit board. The IC's involved is the NJM2068M-D and NJM4558M-D. If I'm not mistaken you have more than 15pcs of this IC's in the circuit board that control the mics inputs. This is a 8-pin IC in D package. You must have at least 2 good IC's spare if you are going to DIY to swap or compare the reading of each IC's in the board.

Also, bad solder joints must be consider in that board and in the power supply feeding this board. Check it first, this is hard to spot, I would advice you to work in the brightest area or used table/portable lamp and magnifying glass. Re-solder as much as possible.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Do the lights come on?
Have you tried the headphone output as well as the line output(s)?
Is the volume turned up?
Do you have it plugged in with the original Yamaha AC adaptor?

seems to be a standard acoustic setup to me. If it doesn't have all the string pins in it, you'll need to get some. you simply pull out the pin, put the string in, then wind it up on the machine heads (tuners) On this one you may need to put the strings through from the inside, I'm not sure about this particular model. I like a double wrap to start on the bass strings, but that's a choice I make. You could go with nylon strings, get ball end, they're easier to use than plain. It takes a bit of know how to do plain, thy have to be wrapped just right on the pins.

If you are talking about cleaning the rubber contacts I wouldn't bother. Once they start to fail then it is best to replace them. You can do this either for the octave giving problems or best to replace complete set. Main part is VY84670R your piano has 6 octaves of these. with a shorter part at either end.

Yes you may use it as stand alone piano. Usually everytime you will power ON any yamaha psr model piano will appear as default voice.

the blue screen with lines is normally as a result of the ribbon cable which has contacts on failing.

The remedy is normally to replace the simple the screen assembly the parts for this are around £300 but there would be significant labour to add to this.

i would suggest talking to a local Yamaha technician

the first thing to try is a factory reset

hold down the highest note while you turn the keyboard on.
once it has started up try again.

if there is only a faint sound when played it could be that the main amplifier has failed or that the speakers have become unplugged from the power board.

does it work on headphones correctly, if it does it points to an amplifier problem.

report back if the reset works

Try a master reset to start with.
Turn keyboard off
Turn on whilst holding down highest note on keyboard
Once screen display has complete release key

This will reset to factory settings.
If this doesn't work report back and we can maybe try other solutions.

Could be an open internal fuse or power supply failure. One other possibility would be a defective power switch.

Yamaha is proprietary and you will not be able to locate one. You have to get Yamaha to service it.
