My Philips 50PF7321D/37 TV picture turns blue after about 30 secs of being on and I cant seem to get it to stop. Also when I turn the TV on it has a black screen with sound for about 15 secs before it

Unplug both the set and a box or receiver if used with the set, remove from power for several minutes and replug all to see if a reboot will help or not.

A yellow line going down

you likely have the "screen size" option set to allow the TV determine the best size (3:4 , 16:9, ...). Set it manually to 16:9 for HD channels or 3:4 for low-def channels.

The line should go away. This is a common problem on Samsung, Sony (Green line right side) and Phillips (yellow line left side).

My power comes on, then the green LED light

I am definitely a girl explaining this because I don't know the correct parts of the tv. Here goes. We had the same problem last year, called philips they advised I do a software update on the tv because that fixes everything....wrong. The light still flashed and no picture. I called them back and they said I had to find a philips tv repair to take it into....got lucky because there was one close by. Come to find out it was some board inside that cost $400 to repair. I thought cool it's cheaper than a new tv! Worked great until about 2 weeks ago the tv turns on and the light is green and picture pops up a minute later. Oh boy more problems! As I sit here right now my tv no longer has a picture. The green light is on but nothing. It's funny because we had it repaired this time last year. I'm fed up and buying a new tv!

50 inches plasma tv the power not working just

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$???????

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and Good luck.

The unit does not turn

The clicking sound you hear is the power supply board trying to power up the screen. Most likely a component on one of the PS boards.
There are a couple of options you can do.

1. Leave the TV unplugged for about an hour so the TV can discharge and hopefully reset itself.

2. If the is any manufacture warranty, best to use this option.

3. If you have some electronic experience, you can find a Service Manual for your TV over the internet for less than $20. This Service Manual will have the schematics, part number list, and test point for the circuit boards in the TV. The Boards the need to be looked at is the main power supply and the board the delivers power to the screen ( commonly called a backlight inverter board). The odds are it's a bad mini transformer or a capacitor. Replacement parts can be found by searching the internet by the part number list in the Service Manual. Whole replacement boards can be found at a good price at Shopjimmy.com or E-bay.

Philips LCD 42PFL3603D/F7 won't stay on until I've held the power button in a few times. The display comes on, then I hear a click and it shuts off. After a few cycles of this it stays on

Remove the cover on the back of the tv. Look for swollen or leaking capacitors. They kinda look like batteries. If they are bulging or leaking then that is your problem. You will have to de-solder the old ones off. Then solder the new capacitors onto the circuit board. Capacitors will cost about 20 dollars and installing them isn't that hard to do. It will fix your tv 99% of the time. So it is worth a try!

I have Philips TV mode

I'm assuming that you have checked that the sound is not muted. To confirm that a reset to factory settings is the next procedure: Menu - Setup - General - Factory settings. If you don't see/hear any modifications then it's a hardware defect, not something with the settings.
This happens when the tv thinks that the headphones are used. Simple test to confirm that: plug in a pair of speakers and see if you get the sound on them. If you get and the situation doesn't changes when you unplug them then this is a mechanical defect: the small switch inside the headphone jack is faulty and keeps signaling that the headphones are plugged in when they are not.
The only way to fix that is to replace the jack, which involves a very delicate soldering procedure , one that only a good repairman can do - you must call one.
