Zebra 105sl laebls always come

Power on while holding the pause button for 5 seconds. This should print black bar across the width of the label. If this prints, then check the darkness parameter in your label format or driver. Also check to make sure your ribbon is feeding coated side out. There is a shiny side and a dull side to a ribbon. The dull side should be against the media. If it is leaving an image on the ribbon and nothing on the label the ribbon is either loaded incorrectly or not a zebra ribbon.

Go to "Printers and Faxes" or "Devices and Printers" and try printing a test page by right clicking on the icon and choosing printer properties. This will better define if the problem is something wrong with the printer or connection OR if it is a software issue.

You need to change the print method from thermal transfer to direct thermal. There are three places to do this:
- on the printer itself - in the printer driver (this will override the setting in the printer and be the default setting for any new labels crested) - in the print properties of a specific label (this will override the two settings previously listed) The last option works best if you are switching label stock or ribbon in and out for different labels.

How to install a zebra 105sl printer

Install? Well that could mean a lot of different things. Just plug it up and run the ribbon and labels through their correct paths. I don't know anything about your network. (If you even need to set it up that way.) You can just connect it to the back of your PC. Follow this link. This will tell you all about the specifications of the 105SL. Not really your connections though....... http://www.intermeccorp.com/pdf/105SLusersguide.pdf

Print too light

Scroll through the setup until you find the darkness option. I keep my printers at 22 or 23. I think the default is 10. Be careful going too dark because it will rip through the ribbon. Also adjust your tensioners.

Printer only prints a small portion of the tag then stops

You may need to re-calibrate it. Fairly simple process, follow the instructions in the lcd menu. If that doesn't work check to make sure the label stopper is snugged up against the labels so there's no vibration or sliding of labels when printing, that will also throw off the calibration. Check the media sensors also to make sure they're free of dust.
