Fix printing problems by resetting the print spoolerhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/2000007
You may try to add the printer locally and test
Add-or-remove-a-printerhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Add-or-remove-a-printer
turn the printer off then push the reset button in back then turn on and keep holding for 60 seconds and then release. this defaults the print server only, not the printer.
the issue sounds inpart to be related the set lable length, the printer thinks that the data will not fit on the label and gives the error. also note that the gap sensor is not in the center so the printer will not and can not autodetect the media correctly. you need to tweak the label setup. you could trick the printer by centering the labels over the gap sensor or if you do a autocalibating use the lable size it give you which would be much smaller then 17mm
