Recalibrate the printer via the Menu system, if this doesn't work you might have a faulty paper out sensor. Another thing to check that there is no old labels stuck on the upper side, this means label gum etc as the sensor is reflective.

Firstly make sure your using the correct drive ZM400 rather than Z4M. if you are using the applications driver make sure of headers and footers sizes and the print area is set correctly. If your using odd sized lables download some new drivers from the Nice Label website, they are far more adjustable that the standard Zebra drivers.

When you go to file and print the dialogue box comes up and you inptut the amount of copies required, uncheck the Colate box just under the amount of copies required. This will allow each print to come out streamed no paused.

Use the Menu system to recalibrate the printer, this should fix your ribbon out issue, if it doesn't you might have a failed sensor.

If you don't use a ribbon, you are using it in Direct Thermal mode. You need to set your driver to use Direct Thermal rather than Thermal Transfer, this is in the settings under Media.

Enter the Menu system on the front panel, cycle around until you find calibration. Press the select button here and follow the instructions, when it asks for you remove ribbon remove it, it will ask to load the backing. Remove a label from the backing and let it do its thing, eventually it will ask you to load all. Re-install all the media and it will calibrate, after this it will fix your error. If it doesn't there will be a sensor that has failed.

Open the side cover, locate the hinge screws at the top inside the cover. 4 remove the side cover and the others remove the other side cover remove the all it is easier that way, check the back to see if there are 2 more screws in the cover. Lift the cover upwards to expose the Main Logic Board, from here you should be able to work out how to remove the Main Board. There are 2 black holders on the main PCB don't open the as they can obtain the Flash RAM, they are very sensitive and if you touch them they can blow.

This is a calibration issue. The labels or ribbon are not loaded correctly. If they are, turn the printer off and then back on and the printer will run a calibrate. This should correct it. Once it is complete, you can verify by pressing the feed button and making sure it feeds one label at a time.

If you want to change the template, you can do this while print previewing it on the computer. Just invert it, go to print properties. You would be able to do it from there.

What software are using? If you use or Zebra Designer Label Matrix, uses its own drivers. If you use another driver, verify that the graphics option is "dithering".

Set in the driver the size of the label and print mode to Tear off.

Some drivers adjust the length of the print area, regardless of the length of the label. Do calibrate the label and also verifies that the margins are zero.

Check the "Dithering" setting in the printer driver. Turning "Dithering" on improves graphics but reduces speed of processing.

An unorthodox solution is to install an old driver. Another solution is to use with Codesoft the driver from www.seagullscientific.com, and with Zebra Designer, the Zebra Designer driver. If the printer is connected to the serial port, speeds up communication.
