Can you please tell me how to print double
Xerox Phaser 8400 does not support double sided prints. You have to have a Duplex Unit for Phaser 8400 part number 097S03177 to be able to print double sided. If you have the duplex unit, on the Print dialog box just click Preferences and under 2-Sided Printing select 2-Sided Print then Apply.

There is probably a tiny sheet of paper stuck inside the printer somewhere which is causing the jam. You basically have to find out where the previous jam was and check the rollers to see if they are clear.
If it is cuz the cleaning sheet is too stiff, then you may need to feed it from the manual feed tray.

It definitely sounds exactly like what you suspect, the X-axis motor is malfunctioning. Do you think you would be able to replace it yourself? It is extremely difficult unless you are well versed with printer repairs. I would suggest an authorized Xerox person does it for you. The printhead is stuck in the tilt position by the tilt arms. The process motor gearbox
being out of sync can also cause this error.
1. Reboot the printer.
2. Verify the lock arms rotate correctly.
3. Check for spilled ink around the printhead.
4. Check the process motor gears for damage. Ensure the
process gears are correctly aligned and homed.
5. Verify the process gear box, process shaft, and drive
module shaft are at home position.
6. Verify the headtilt gear will engage, see the home
positioning procedure on page. You can manually
engage the headtilt gear.
7. Run the Tilt Axis Drive test.
8. Run the Process Motor test.
9. Run the Head Maintenance Clutch test, if the test fails
replace the clutch.
10.Run Wiper Drive test. If this fails inspect the wiper
drive system.
You can also, power off the xerox printer, power on back, while the printer is loading/waring up, remove the plug from AC outlet, wait for some minutes before plugging it back and power on. With this, the problem should be fix.

Sounds like you have a printer head problem for the other colors. The printer head for the black, cyan and magenta color is probably busted this is why you are only seeing color yellow because the only good printer head left is for yellow. You can try to have your printer checked if its cheap enough to replace the heads but I think that you'll probably be better off buying a new printer... you can get a good quality printer for just under $100.

Error code 07.009.42 what should I do?
07,009.42 Error indicates that the printhead was unable to tilt normally on its axis.
This is most likely caused by a cracked drum maintenance camshaft. The drum maintenance camshaft is driven by the process drive motor on the right side of the printer. It raises and lowers the maintenance kit against the drum to oil and clean the drum. The camshaft has 2 lobes on it. These lobes crack over time and cause several different error conditions. The camshaft part # 401100380 is only about US$20 from Xerox but can be very difficult to replace. Also look at the pivot plate assembly. Slide out the drum maintenance kit. If you look inside the cavity the plate that the maintenance kit sits on is called the pivot plate. If the drum maintenance pivot plate is white plastic it should also be replaced with the new style black plastic plate. This requires removing the process drive gears assembly. Note that reinstalling the assembly requires the gears to be accurately timed. This repair should only be performed by a qualified technician.
Getting an error code for a phaser 8400.
I could not find the 37,000.40 error are you sure it isn't something like 37,004.40 or a different # in the middle? But the first thing I would check is if you have it pluged into a UPS or a power strip with other equipment. These types of error can occur when the machine is not getting enough power supplied to them. double check that error # and if it is that code I can do some more checking.

It tends to be the problem of heater assembly in printer .Ensure you have proper power supply to printer , if there is any interruption of power then printer won,t be having enough power to function properly and you get this error message . To solve these problem completely you need to contact service person to get it serviced .
