There seems to be a communication problem between the printer and the pc. I'd recommend that you uninstall the printer from the commputer, you can do so from start -> control panel -> uninstall programs or "add or remove" programs.
After you have removed the printers software, if any exists. Then go to the printers and faxes folder. Which you will find from either start menu or from start -> control panel -> or in some cases it might also be in My computer.
Once inside the folder, right click on your printer and select delete. Also disconnect the printers usb canble and make sure there are no other printers with the same name installed there.
Now restart the computer, and being to install the printer back to the computer like you did when you purchased it. Insert the cd and run the setup. if you no longer have the disc you may obtain the software from
