With routers/modems/access points that have USB connection the PC do not pick up the USB like other devices. You will have to install the drivers for the USB which will be on the CD that came with the Linksys.
You can go to the following link to get more details on the drivers: Linksys(Cisco) Support
Uninstall that form the computer and restart the computer. You will find found new hardware on the taskbar . Click on the found new hardware baloon. install the device from this wizard. Browse for the cd and install software from here . Restart the computer after that.

Just use the Windows Zero configuration to connect to the wireless network.
On the system tray ( bottom right corner of the screen ), you'll see the Linksys WLAN monitor ( green Icon ). Right click on that icon and select use windows Wireless Zero Configuration, then click yes if you will be asked if you want to do it.
Then connect wirelessly using windows.
Go to the control panel > network and internet > network connections.
Right click the wireless network connection > go to properties > go to the wireless networks tab > make sure that the box on the top is checked ( use windows to configure... ) > then click on view available wireless networks > connect to your network, make sure that you're typing in the right password because it is very case sensitive.
