Linksys adapter won't properly connect
Usually the limited or no connectivity is displayed under the following circumstances:
- The router and wireless adapter are too far apart.
- The network key (ex. wep, wpa, etc) your inputting on the computer is incorrect.
- The computer is obtaining the wrong IP address.
Judging by the fact that you already have had a computer connecting to the wireless network , I would assume your problem is going to be related to number 3. To make sure, I would first make sure that the wireless router is giving off a higher signal strength then 1-2 bars in the wireless network box in XP.
To confirm that it is correctly receiving an IP address I would change the connection to DHCP, which means the router assigns an IP address to the computer automaticlly. Here aree the instructions to do so....
- Double click on the icon for the wireless network on the bottom right corner
- When the box opens , click "Properties"
- On the next box , double click on the line that says "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
- Next click on the radio button that says "Obtain an IP address automaticlly (DHCP)"
- Then click on the radio button that says "Obtain DNS server address automaticlly"
- Now try connecting to the wireless network, that shoud fix you up.
Also if that does not work , you can try this YouTube video which is great refrence for fixing a connection. Best of luck!

Hi i have a link sys adapter wusb54gs and a netgear WGR614 router?
if you have installed the device on an XP sp1 and does not have the PWA patch this will be the error. it will be best to contact your Linksys Tech support at 1-800-326-7114 and they may need to install the adapters wireless utility to get you conencted.

Make sure that your security password is correct.
Then:
start>control panel>administrative tools>services
Make sure your DHCP client and wireless zero client are started and set to startup type automatic.

Setting a new static IP in router
On a linksys router, the "DEFAULT" IP setting is 192.168.1.1. If you can't access it through that IP, you'll need to do a hard reset to be able to configure the router once more with the suggested change from your provider. To do a hard reset, locate the reset button on the back of the router and hold it in with a paper clip for 30 seconds. Unplug the power from the router, wait a moment and plug it back in. When you access the router with the factory settings, you'll leave the username blank and the password will be admin. Enjoy.

Linksys wireless adapter
I don't believe so. Unfortunately, Microsoft built the OS in the XBOX 360 to only work with their hardware -- that includes the wireless adapter. Try a wireless bridge instead like the Linksys WGA54G.
Hope this helps!

Can not connect
It is possible that your windows update messed up the Linksys drivers. If your pc is xp, download the latest drivers from
www.linksys.com/download. uninstall the wpc54g on the add/remove programs.
if using XP, reinstall drivers only, no need to install the linksys software. This would be best if you install the drivers manually. After this you will be using only the WINDOWS UTILITY for your wireless connection.

Linksys wireless-g
If pc is xp, go to control panel(on classic view), click SYSTEM icon, click HARDWARE(tab on top), click DEVICE MANAGER. Double click NETWORK ADAPTERS. The Linksys Wireless Adapter should be there. If not, unplug and replug the wireless adapter then start again from the beginning of this solution. If the Linksys Wireless Adapter shows under NETWORK ADAPTERS, right click it and click properties. If you see THE DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY, then the problem might be your wireless router.

Fast user swiching will not work after installing linksys usb adapter
if u mean bu switching user accnt in ur PC then yes this could happen as when u install USB adapter in system ..
It also get included in the system startup
Goto start
Goto run
type msconfig
click ok
system configuration utility will open up
goto start up and u will find the usb adapter utilty or software listed
As ur system start up items gets increased whenever u install any new software on ur system
These softwares get loaded when u start pc or switch user
which causes some latency
Solution to this would be to goto the same system system configuration utlity window and try to disable unnecasary appln which are not required in starting windows

As hoc
This probably isn't a Windows problem at all but a 'hiccup' in your wireless network connectivity. If RDP (Remote Desktop) loses a connection to the RDP server, it can drop connection unexpectedly. It's supposed to re-connect, but it doesn't always. Can you try connecting via LAN cable to see if the problem persists?
