First verify your wireless password, I highly suggest you log into your router and change it to a pass phrase that's easy to remember, such as: SecureWifipassword1 That's even overkill, but you get the point, easy to remember and easy to enter into smart devices.

Usually there are 2 types of wireless connections, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Your laptop may not be able to connect to one of these connections, so it may be incompatible with your router. You can try buying a USB networking card (no more than $20). It will plug into one of your USB ports and should allow you to connect to your router. Hope this helps!

Are you having trouble with the WiFi? I've never had a smart phone, or anything else for that matter, suggest forgeting a network. The list of remembered networks just gets longer and longer over time. However, if you go into WiFi settings there are things you can do to clean up the list of networks like set a priority order/move up and down or forget/remove old networks. In summary, unless you are having trouble with the wifi, this may be a normal thing you just recently noticed.

The reset procedure of a router, is most of the time printed on the underside of the router. Most of the time you have to push a button for a certain time, or unplug it form the power for at least one minute or so. You can still use IPV4 instead. IPV6 will be rejected anyway, so you don't need to turn it off.

Forget the AES encryption, it is a type of encryption used. What you need to be setting up is the protocol for wireless networks, WEP, WPA etc. that carries the data, encrypted or not between the computer and the printer. They both must be the same type and have the same password set up.

Hi Do you mean it doesn't power on or won't connect to the internet? If it powers on OK do the lights flash as described in the manual If the router worked before why should you need new firmware, doesn't make sense.

Go back and reload the firmware if that solves it you are good to go if not revert back to factory firmware and then post a note on Netgears site,could be a bug in their firmware.

Go to www.netgear.com to download your resource software. You will need your model number, the N600 will not do it. Flip that router upside down or look on the sides for the actual model number or serial. Punch that in on the site to locate your download. Once you have downloaded it, run it. Hopefully that fixes your problem.
