Usualy that is happened when you try to print another format , to solve that put some paper in the manualy tray. When you receive a mail from another contry in another format : ex A4 , and your printer is set to letter , brother says no paper because the machine want to print in that format of paper. Pay attention to the setings in printer driver in computer.

It probably needs to be cleaned. There may be bits of paper stuck in the mechanism. Open the front cover, press Clear/Back, Press * 1 2, wait for message to 'Close Cover', close cover.
