Can you try below steps?
When error appear,
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete -> Click "Start Task Manager"->Click on "Process Tab"-> Select "SBUpdate.exe"-> Terminate that process by clicking "End Process" button

2. Click "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories"-> "System Tools"-> "Task Scheduler" -> Then delete "SBWUpdateTask_Logon" and "SBWUpdateTask_Time"

You can run the Windows XP mode, and run apps under Windows XP mode. Probably your device is not 100 percent compatible with Windows 7, and or it does not have a proper drivers (and the device manufacturer does not provide Windows 7 drivers).
