Thanks for allowing US to help.
Many cameras have
diffrent formats,
diffrent file systems. Regards to your issue here you might want to transfer all the data of the memory card then formatting it in that camera. You cannot just simply swap from one camera to the next because of this issue.
So try formatting it first. If that does not jibe then chances are your Kodak might have a issue with its card reader inside.
Questions to think about.
Have you tried another memory card?
Have your formatted that card in this camera or Vice
versa?
Thanks for allowing me to give you Very Helpful advice today.

Good day,
This tip will explain a few methods on how to try and fix your lens if it is stuck or you get a lens error on your screen.
Please
note that all these methods are used at the users own risk and that I
can not be held responsible for any damages or losses that occur while
trying these methods.
1. If your camera is still under warranty, send your camera to the manufacturer to be replaced or fixed professionally.
2. If your camera is out of warranty try these methods.
- Make sure your batteries are fully charged.
- Remove the batteries for 10min. Replace the batteries and see if the problem persists.
- Try compressed air. This method can be useful if there
are any sand or any other object stuck in the lens motors. Use
compressed air with a fine tip. Direct the air between the camera body
and lens and move in a circular motion around the lens to complete a
full rotation.
- You can also try to tap the padded USB cover firmly on a
flat surface like a table. This is sometimes a surprisingly effective
method.
- The last method is to try and force the lens. Turn of
your camera and place it on its back on a flat surface. Look at the
spacing between the lens and the body and see if the gap is consistent
all the way around the lens. If the gap is not even it is likely that
the camera fell while the lens was extended. Now VERY GENTLY push down on the lens were the gap is the biggest until you her a "click". This will indicate that the lens is back in place. Try powering back on.
- If the lens does not extend or it extend and retracts
turn of the camera. Hold the camera in your one hand and with the other
hand turn the one part of the lens in a circular motion. Rotate both
sections of the lens until you hear a "click". This will indicate that the lens popped back in place. Power the camera back on.
- The last method you can use is to turn the lens while powering on the camera until you hear a "click". Power the camera of and back on to see if it works.
If
any of the methods listed above failed to work for your lens problem it
would be wise to take it on to a professional to get your camera
repaired.
Thanks for taking the time to read my tip and feel free to let me know if it was of any help.

I have a Kodak Z740
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need

Z740 SD card 4 and
None. The Z740 works only with MMC and SD cards, which are limited to 2GB in size.
Can't get picture from my camera to my computer
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Why will My Sandisk SDHC
The Z740 is designed to work with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work.
My batteries are lasting shorter and shorter
Digital cameras are famously demanding on batteries. You must use good alkaline batteries or better, a set of high capacity NiMH rechargeables. Zinc or "long life" batteries just aren't up to the task, and they can leak and cause corrosion.
NiMH batteries with a capacity of 2700mAH are available, and these will last longer, per charge, than name brand alkalines, as well as being rechargeable. You can buy these with a charger fairly cheaply now (though they obviously cost more than disposables). You will probably want two sets, one to be on charge while you use the other.
Screen won't work
Hi,
There is a button that switches between the Eye Level Viewfinder (ELF) and the LCD. It is located on the back of the camera just above the screen on the right side. It has "ELF/LCD" on it. I only know this because I have the same button on my camera.
With the camera powered up. Push that button. If it works? Great! If pushing it doesn't work, A professional repair will be needed from Kodak.
It is a nice camera, so it may be worth the fix.Perhaps it is covered under warranty.
But first, unless you've already done it. Push the button.
I hope this helps and I truly hope the camera isn't broken.
Have a Happy New Year,
Best, Mark
Randomly, many of my photos are blurry.....
Looking at this camera manual I see that you can switch to PASM mode which I'm suggesting you use "P" Program. Also to get the best ( steadiest) photo's switch to the EFV (electronic viewfinder) there is a little swich just below and to the right of the viewfinder for switch from and too. it may have LCD/EFV on the switch A great idea for the very best photo to print is to use ISO 100 but this may prove difficult in some lighting situations try it and if you have some problems this can be changed to ISO 200 or higher but the higher the ISO number the grainier the pictures will become.
So a reap. Change to "P" program in the PASM mode. Switch to the EFV viewfinder, try ISO 100 but ISO 200 will work as well. What the big change is, is to use the Electronic viewfinder this brings the camera closer to your face and your arms are tucked into your body making it much more stable to hold. Happy New Year
Pictures will not transfer from

The flash bulb has burned
Hi,
With this camera it is not possible to connect an external flash so this is not an option in terms of a workaround. You will need to contact Kodak directly to see if it is still possible to get a replacement flash.
Live telephone support is available in English and Spanish at
1-800-235-6325, 9 A.M. to midnight, Eastern Time, Monday through Sunday. There is no charge for telephone support.
You can also Email Kodak here
http://support.en.kodak.com/app/ask_egain
Be aware the the cost of a replacement flash unit may actually outweigh the current value of the camera as this is an older unit but there is no other way around this problem.
Thanks for using FixYa.
My camera won't allow me
Hi,
Have you checked to make the write protection lock is off?
You will find it on the left top of the card.

Kodak Z740, want to know if the 4GB SDHC card
Class 10 just means it will read and write information much faster than a class 2 card. The real issue may be that your camera can't use SDHC cards. Check your manual to see if it will only accept SD cards.
Camera turns on then immediately
Check that you have fresh batteries in the camera.Check that the camera has rechargeable LiIon batteries, as recommended by the manufacturer. That's what I use in my Kodak camera, and using alkalines didn't work for me.
How do I format an SDHC card to use in the
Your
camera will accept a maximum SD card capacity of 2GB. It simply isn't
capable of handling anything of a larger capacity and in particular is
incompatible with the more technically advanced SDHC cards, so there's no way to format them for your model.
Your fix is to either replace your camera with a later model or to stick to using SD cards with a maximum 2GB capacity.
