Units flashes when turned on --won't stop
Here's my LMS 332c circuit board. I'm showing where the power source is on the lower right, and where I believe the first two ribbon cables that lead to the power switch on the front panel (upper left). Can anyone tell me how to disable the internal power switch and where? I want to install external switch and bypass the internal. I can solder and not afraid to try since this unit is out of warranty and is not functional as is with powering on/off and screen flashing randomly. Thanks!

HelloI don't know whether you have made a factory reset to this device or not. If not, set it first and see whether it helps you. To make it factory settings:[1] Press 'MENU""MENU" (down arrow to system setup) "ENT" (down arrow to RESET options/ ENT[2] The unit asks if you want to reset all the options. Press [<---] to YES and then ENT. All options are reset, and the unit reverts back to map page at 4000 miles zoom range. Any recorded sonar logs of GPS data will be unchanged. OK.

Hello,First of all I myself am not the expert who you worked with prior and you said you do not want to pay him until this is solved. I am doing this for free, because you did not of course click on one of my ads for me to get paid. That link for me if you want to check out is.
http://beta.fixya.com/users/mc1beanHowever I will try and help you by giving you some major advice.... First of all not a good idea at all to by pass the power switch, this can cause other electronic damage and especially with fish finders there based on low pulsate waves and could get major interference. What i would do if switch is sticking its mostly caused from dirt and oxidation especially if around salt water and if unit is not stored proper during off season or if is turned off for long periods. Best thing to do it use some electronical spay made for lubrication of electronics, which could help free up your switch and contacts might restore themselves. Never a good idea to bypass a main power supply to unit. Worse case , i would take it into local electronic shop that deals with your type of units and they can fix switch. I am sure it is going to be corrosion built up or contacts just need cleaning. Here is also a link to your unit, and is a download of manual in pdf form to view or download. http://www.fixya.com/support/p26277-lowrance_lms_332c_gps_receiver/manual-17979Page 32 and more talks about power and everything I just mentioned. Now, i hope this helps. I have nothing to gain as Like I said I am answering your problem for free out of the kindness of my heart. MIke

Lms-332c lowrance fishfinder unit turns
well, you should beging by doing a soft reset..hold the pages button down as you power up to do the soft reset. if problem persists, then you are most probably having a keypad problem.. some button is stuck and anything could cause that.. even moisture. i recommend you have it serviced by tech in this case.
