Recovery media no longer available. Can it be downloaded somewhere?

You'll be better served by just reinstalling windows. Most times the recovery does not work.System Restore will allow you to select a Restore Point(date and time) to set your system back to when it was working ok. Itdoes not delete any of your data, documents, music, pictures, videos orprograms (unless the program was installed after the Restore Date youselected).System Recovery (sometimes referred to as Factory Restore) will set your systemback to when you first purchased it. It Deletes Everything. Mosttimes the System Recovery does not work unless there is a recovery partition onyour hard drive created by the manufacturer. If you are trying to recoverfrom a set of cd's most times it does not work.Instead of doing a System Recovery it's much easier to just ReinstallWindows. Look on your computer for the Certificate of Authentication(COA) Sticker. It will tell you what operating system is on your computerand it will give you the Product Key Code (a series of 5 letters and numbers)that you will need to activate windows. If you don't have an operatingsystem disk, borrow one from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker. Justmake sure it is the same as your COA Sticker's operating system or it willnever activate. Also make sure you get the COA Product Key Code for thedisk you borrow because sometimes the system will ask for the one that is onyour system and sometimes it will ask for the one from the installation disk.

I have had a toshiba

there are two compartments on the underside of the laptop... unscrew both... remove the battery from its compartment... canned air can be used but not recommended due to the fact it just does not blow hard enough... use an air compressor instead with a blow out nozzle... if you don't have immediate or quick access to one... go to the nearest tire shop or tire repair shop and kindly ask if you can use their blow out nozzle... blow air in all vents , fans, and open compartments on the underside... after blowing out all debris and dust... replace the screws to the underside compartments, replace the battery back in its compartment... plug in your unit and press the power button. thats it! your problem should be solved... this problem may occur again... but now you know what to do.

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE

The DC jack, where you plug the power adapter cable, might be loose or defective, & needs to be either re-soldered or replaced.
In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard taken out. Also, the motherboard needs to be checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether.

Ok here's my problem i have a toshiba a75 s211

1. Test power adapter for output voltage. Bend the power cable in various directions while doing this to be sure that there is no broken conductors in the cable.
2. If power adapter is Ok, connect it & see if the power LED on the laptop will glow when you jiggle the power connector in various directions. If yes, then the DC jack might be loose or damaged, & need to be either re-soldered or replaced.
3. If not, then disassemble the laptop. Remove any components that attach to the laptop's motherboard first (e.g. battery, hard drive, RAM, wireless card, optical drive, ... etc.)
4. Next, remove the keyboard & the LCD screen.
5. Finally, unscrew all screws that hold the upper cover & lower cover together so that you could gain access to the motherboard.
6. Inspect the solder points connecting the DC jack to the motherboard. Make sure that none of them is loose. If any, re-solder them.
7. Inspect the center pin in the DC jack. Make sure that it is not broken or loose. If it is, then you might need to replace the DC jack.
8. When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.

BOOTS UP SLOW

Click Start, then Run (If it's not there, Hold the WindowsLogo Key on the Keyboard and tap the letter "R") and type:MSCONFIG <Hit Enter on the Keyboard>

Click the Startup Tab and Uncheck everything that you don't want/need to start up with the PC (More startup items you leave checked, the more memory/resources it takes slowing down your pc).Click OK and then Close. Reboot the PC. Once you reboot a new window pops up,just check the box at the bottom left and click close (you won't see it again). That's it.

Cheers!

Laptop is running but screen

Try attaching an external monitor to the laptop & see if you could get any display on it. If this is successful, then you might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

I have a toshiba satellite a75-s229 i want to add

You can virtually add any amount of hard drive but I would recommend you to keep it low from 512GB. A 320 GB hard drive in my opinion is a very large one and should work out perfectly.
For the model you can install any company's hard drive until its appropriate to the type you have.
I personally would recommend SeaGate. I have had a very good experience with them.

Hope this helps, Please feel free to ask me for further assistance.
