My toshiba a25 s207 laptop CCLF tubes dead.

the inverters fail 1%your question really is impossible. (how to get to)CCFL., NO photos of you showing panel rear and that STICKER.then you ask how to get the LCD out;. will good luck there see my last post on that topicwhy even post until you open the back panel 100%remove the LCD paneland see what is there, most PC have 3 screen optonsand 3 makers of screens, so ONLY you opening itand see what screen actually is there, will work1: remove screen.2: see Toshiba sticker and P/N. and makers name and number too. (Samsung and LG are 2 top makers))3: then lock for the CCLF, the big clue is the Invereter cable goes to the CCFL array, 1 tube or 3 tubes on some.if you look at the screen and CCFL entry pointyou then (physical world is like this) we see3 possible ways in.1: easy it has a slide out tray?2: is a huge glue/plastic sandwich, impossible.3: has these silly metal bend tabs that snap off rendering my work useless, or I get invented with hot glue gun and rip it apart and find the tubes.spend $30 to $50 or tubes (sellers are scaplers)and make this work.as you can see I have done this.what is inside your PC nobody knows, due to the facts stated above. (it's optional when new/built)

I need more RAM for the A25-3072 Satelite

Maximum capacity of this series is 2gb of DDR400. Also labelled PC-3200. You will have to do this in 1gb sticks over two slots under the keyboard. I recommend matching sticks, but since it doesn't dual channel even when hyperthreading I've noticed no systemic unreliability in unmatched sticks. To my knowledge, they didn't make laptop DDR in sizes larger than 1gb. 2gb laptop modules were introduced with DDR2

Lose Hinge

You might have to remove the Palmrest and keyboard to tighten the screws on the hinges. Have some cups with labels on them so you will know where the screws came from. Turn the laptop over and remove the screws on the bottom. Remove the battery and remove any screws inside the battery case or compartment. Notice some screws might have the icon of a keyboard besides them, if so they hold the keyboard in place. Remove the covers for the hard drive, memory and any other devices then remove them and look for screws inside the case where they came from. Remove the dvd drive and look for screws in the dvd drive compartment that hold the palmrest to the frame. Turn the laptop back over and remove the strip that is above the keyboard very carefully because there might be a cable under it. You will just have to pry it loose because it snaps in place. The lcd hinges might be exposed enough so that you can tighten them without removing the keyboard and palmrest. Next remove the keyboard. The strip that was above the keyboard might have screws under it that hold the keyboard in place so remove the screws. Sometimes the keyboard has little catches that hold it on the sides, so just work with one side first by bending it a little to get past the catches. Once you get one side loose you can carefully lift the keyboard because there is a cable that is under it that attaches to the board that you want to remove from the board. Now the LCD Hinges might be exposed so you can tighten them.

Can I switch out a Trident CyberALADDIN-P4 video card for an ATI Radeon 9600XT or equivilant?

The video card on a laptop is built-in on the motherboard and cannot be swapped to another video card. You maybe able to increase the video RAM in the BIOS video settings BUT it will reduce your main memory by the corresponding amount because the video uses shared RAM.

Screen is dark when I boot up

Sometimes it is no more complex that the contrast is set incorrectly. This would be the first place to look. Should be a key combination on the laptop to adjust it.
Hope this helps. I would appreciate your feed back as I do this for fun not pay.

I have upgraded my Toshiba

Hi,

Improve the Fixya.com experience for everyone by voting!

Unfortunately, I would either have to be in the chat mode or on the telephone with you to fully analyze your problem and provide a coherent answer. But don't despair because there is a little FREE program that may solve your problem.

It happens periodically that our computer shuts down, restarts, loses drivers, hibernates or some other weird thing when we really don't want it to. I'm going to pass on to you a FREE and hard to believe program from Microsoft! I have no idea why this little program hasn't been advertised but then I don't own their stock.

Just click on the following link and your problem should be solved: Download Microsoft's Fixit

I don't know your skill level so my suggestion is that you utilize the automatic function of Fixit.

Be a hero and fix your friends' computers; just don't tell them how you did it! That will be our little secret.

All the best,

Ben
