Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.
This is a brand new virus that is not even a month old. It gets in the system and takes over the "boot" procedure for computers. When you boot up, you are presented with a black screen and white letters asking for a password. Any passowrd that you enter gives you this answer: Password:X It almost looks like a bios password but cannot be bipassed because you cannot get into the bios.
I have had seven computers this week in my shop and here is how we resolved the issue:
Reset CMOS: For your laptop, you will need to take the battery out (battery on motherboard) for ten minutes and then replace. Boot up and you should be able to get back in. (the battery can be found on the back of computer. Unplug, flip over and unscrew the door(s) to find battery) It looks like a little watch battery, round.
Once you are in, Uninstall your current antivirus (it is hijacked and will need to be reinstalled after this process).
Download
Kaspersky's free trial here and install (this will remove the new virus)
Run a scan on entire computer, getting rid of all malware, spyware and trojans.
I also highly recommend purchasing and installing
Spyhunter from Engima. It cost $30.00. (They do offer a free download but it scans, shows you the infections and that's all. You must pay to remove) I highly recommend this tool as it has saved me many "working" hours removing viruses.
Reboot the computer after the scan and it will be all gone.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
