Hello Metro9. It sounds like something has gone haywire in you unit's configuration. We have the
LS4000i manual available on our website. Have a look at it and go to page 5-6 for the "Set All Defaults" barcode. Printing this page and scanning the barcode will reset all of the settings on your LS4000i to it's default settings which are listed on page 5-1. That would be resetting the scanner. If you have any other problems, feel free to send me a message or email and I'll be happy to help. Good luck!

You can create a barcode in Code 39 that contains $M. Then scan the Enable Code 39 Full ASCII barcode from the Symbologies section of the
LS4000 Series Product Reference Guide (Adobe page 93 of 182). If you are unable to create the barcode
Knowledge Article ADC-00266 contains the $M barcode. You may run into problems with your application if it does not see a Control M as an Enter. If this is the case the article contains instructions for addressing this problem as well.
Need Adapter
LS4000i does not work with USB or RS232. It is an undecoded (dumb) scanner you need a LS4004 to work with RS232 and special STI adaptor for anything other then 4006, 4007 and 4008.

Decodeing UPC-A Supplemental 2 or 5 code
you should have a code book that came with the scanner, the code book allows you to program the scanner's options, the code book takes you step by step through the programming proccess. each option requires you to scan varios barcodes to "set" the various options
one of the options will be to set the barcodes you wish to use, this is set to avoid a misread (confusion between barcode standards)
