this seems like an hardware issue, just contact your supplier. Those scanners are covered by 5 years warranty. You probably get an replacement for your faulty device.

Just contact your point of purchase, those scanners are covered by 5 years warranty. I think they will provide you with a new one.

Find the following barcodes, print them annd then scan then in this order:

scan options.
data > suffix
Enter.

This should resolve your problem.

Is the com port - serial port working and detected in windows? Is the program set to use the correct com port? In many cases there is com 1 com 2 com 3 com 4 and maybe even more, if the wrong port is selected it wont function.

The barcode scanners are usually using ans Standard PS/2 or USB interface in the same way as keyboard, therefore you dont need an driver.
You would probably need to setup the barcode scanner according to the used connection/interface.

You would need to add an criteria or the rule, like barcode length or type. Than is the the scanner able to understand which barcode should be handled by the specific rule.

In general you can create an Advanced Data Programming Rule which will say: If you scan an UPC barcode, please send only the first 11 characters of the barcode.
There are programming barcodes in the manual for the scanner or you can use the 123Scan2 application provided at support.symbol.com to create the rule and print out an config sheet.

it should scan any code bar no matter the font ...cause those are on the standard used for all bar code scanners..So if it do not scan it ..it is just a one case exception and those that print it is to blame ...anyway try to reinstall the driver and look on the manufacturer site for updates...maybe its a newly standard and there are updates available..
Also try more than one code of the same font to see if some of them have imperfections or something ..

In your programming manual there is a barcode scan that needs to be scanned in that adds the carriage return function. To do this you will first need to scan the barcode to put the unit into program mode, then scan the carriage return barcode, then scan the end programming code. Now when you scan a barcode the scanner will add the return to the sequence it sends to the computer. If you can't find your programming book you can download the sheets from the Symbol web site.
