Symbol LS2208
From the
LS2208 Product Reference Guide you should print and scan the following barcodes:
Begin New Rule Adobe page 232 of 342
Send all data that remains Adobe page 246 of 342
Send tab key Adobe page 286 of 342
Send 1 Adobe page 270 of 342
Save Rule Adobe page 232 of 342
That should do it. If you find the scanner sends the 1 too quickly after the tab key you may want to scan Send Pause in between the Send tab key and Send 1 statements.
Hi, can ls2208 scan a memorex 9840 tape bar code
Hello khlai. The quick answer to your question is: Yes. An LS2208 can decode (read) code 39 barcodes. However, since you are reading a barcode on a tape, I would predict that the symbology is actually 'Trioptic Code 39". Trioptic Code 39 is a variant of standard Code 39 that is used for marking computer/tape cartridges. I've uploaded the LS2208 manual to my company's website for you. Just follow these instructions and you'll be right as rain.
- Go to www.shiftintoblue.com/resources/ls2208_manual.pdf and save the manual to your computer (or print directly from the web.)
- Go to and print page 194 (12-28) that contains the Trioptic Code 39 barcodes.
- Take the printed page and scan the barcode labeled "Enable Trioptic Code 39".
Then you're all done! That should fix the problem. If you have any other problems, feel free to send me a message or email me. I hope this helps. Good luck!
How can i progamm the 2208, so it will scan code
The Quick Start Guide has a Default Barcode. Scan that. Code 39 and 93 should be on by default. If not download the Reference Guide and there are barcodes in that manual that enable/disable all symbologies.
I WANT
it is depend upon the software that your using...update the scanner into the software..
Can't get my computer to communicate and update
When you scanned the "set defaults" barcode in the manual, you erased all "host parameters". Find the appropriate HOST barcode and scan it. That should establish communication with the host (Keyboard Wedge, USB, Serial) If you are having issues, contact the Motorola Help Desk at 1-800-653-5350 or me at 1-866-306-7226

LOW BEAM, CANNOT SCAN
Call Motorola. Depending on the serial number the scanner may be replaced. This is most likely a hardware failure. The phone number is 800-653-5350. Choose technical support.
The beam is weak an cannot scan a barcode
Call Motorola if the beam is weak. This is a hardware defect covered by the scanners warranty. The phone number is 800-653-5350. Choose technical support rather than hardware repair-depending
LS2208 Can get it to work no driver
If your scanner shipped with a keyboard wedge cable and you are using a PS/2 to USB adapter all you should have to do is scan the IBM AT Notebook barcode on Adobe page 56 of 342 of the
LS2208 Product Reference Guide. I suggest saving a copy of the document to your host then printing just that page. Scan the barcode then try scanning your barcode. If the computer still does not see your barcode try rebooting. If this still does not resolve your issue you may want to purchase a USB cable. The part number is CBA-U01-S07ZAR.
If you have the CBA-U01-S07ZAR and the scanner is not sending data then you should scan the HID Keyboard Emulation barcode from the QRG that came with the device or Adobe page 109 of 342 of the guide referenced above. I hope this helps.
