Epson PhotoPC 650 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Poor image quality
hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
I have Epson Photo PC
To be honest I think the camera, although great in its day has given you good service, unless changing the batteries or gently pulling on the camera contacts to make them give better contact with the batteries works I think that it is what is known as 'beyond economic repair' I. Even. Time to buy a new camera. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.
CompactFlash storage card
Make sure you're using an ATA-compatible CompactFlash memory card. Other cards may not work with PhotoPC 650.
Image on screen is too dark.
Adjust the brightness of the screen using the Camera SETUP menu. See page 3-14 for instructions. In direct sunlight conditions, you may need to shield the LCD display monitor with your hand.
YThe colors in my picture have yellow/green color cast.
When you take pictures under certain artificial lighting conditions- such as fluorescent, incandescent, or halogen lighting, the colors in your image may take on a yellow or green cast. You can use HotShots to touch-up the colors; see Chapter 7 for instructions.
Area captured different from viewfinder area
Make sure you look straight through the viewfinder. Keep in mind that the area visible through the viewfinder is slightly smaller than the area captured in the photo. If you're taking a close-up or macro mode picture, turn the camera dial to the LCD mode so that you can use your LCD screen to preview your picture.
Sharing collections between Mac's and PC's
No, the collections are operating system dependent so they cannot be read by both Mac's and PC's. The collections created on a Mac can only be read on a Mac and vice versa.
Windows NT 3.51
No, Windows NT 4.0 is the minimum NT operating system requirement.
Red-eye reduction in macro mode
The red-eye reduction feature causes the flash to blink on and off rapidly, then flash normally. This may cause over exposure and subject discomfort in the macro mode.
Using the serial cable to download images
When you do a "save as" and save them back to the CompactFlash card the JPEG header is changed. So when you insert the card back into the camera, the camera doesn't recognize or see the file.
