do you currently have the mc50 or the mc55? If you are looking to use a sim card?

Take the battery out for 5 minutes and then put it back and try again

Cold boot the scanner with the three finger contortion. Power Button, right scan button and the reset button at the same time. Wait for it to reboot. If it doesn't reboot, you haven't done it right. Redo it. Then if it comes up and keeps saying align you may have to hit the reset only button and wait for it to warm boot.

Based on the Information you have provided we can assume that either,

1. You need to update your firmware and/or browser through the included update software
2. Both units have been damaged in different ways, most likely the memory as browsers on pocket PCs are notorious for freezing like this when they run out of memory.

dIf updating the software on your phones does not work you will have to bring them in to a specialist to hto see which of the internal parts has been damaged.

Ekse: the hard reset wipes the handheld and returns it to factory defaults, you will be online after the hard reset. then just restore your data from your desktop computer and your good to go. There is a reset button on the back, bottom right hand side of the device. This could be pressed using the stylus

Start --> programs --> File Explorer --> Windows --> CtlPanel --> Scanner Settings --> Scan Params --> Change Wav file and Start Wav file to some other sound. Thats the only way i've found to quiet it down.

in settings go to wireless manager and turn wlan on.in some phone there is a quick acess key on the side for this.

What you need to do is to carefully down load the symbol fron the internet with another computer system then copy it with a flash drive on make use of USB cord to transfer the symbol to your MC pocket PC so as to able to load in to the net this recommendation is for USB cord .

If you like to make use of flash drive, after down loading the symbol from the net plug in your flash in to the PC you are making use of copy it from MY COMPUTER in to the flash , then remove the drive carefully the install it to your pocket pc through the USE pot open it and then up load it.

Routers has DHCP capability which enables them to provide IP address to computers and this is automatic unless you set the the router to manual. Inorder for you to verify this capability, you need to connect a computer to the router and go to command prompt of the computer and type ipconfig. If you are not getting any IP address then the problem is the router.

it is possible that if you changed the battery you forfot to move the slide button next to the battery to the correct position. It often happens to me :-) Please check it, its on the right top corner of the battery, you should not see the red marking, if there is the correct position.

If the scanwedge program is loaded and enabled, your scan engine is bad. Check to see if scanwedge is running and scanning is enabled

Enable the scanner and you are good to go.

There is a program you can download from symbol/motorola and place on a sd card and follow the instructions with the card and program. Otherwise send it to me and I will do it for $100.00.

I will do it for $100.00 or tell you how to do it yourself for $50.00. First price includes the battery, second price does not. Let me know

All MC50s are equipped with an scanner, if you would read out the Full Product number (like MC5040-XXXXXXXXX) of your device. Then can you check which kind of scnner is built in. The Software is usually preinstalled in the /Application folder.
