Turn it off and on again and if it doesn't work try reseting it.

Search google to do a hard reset, I had the problem and after doing a hard reset it helped me and my tablet is working fine now. I don't really remember which keys it was but there are three keys to keep pressed and after that it will reset your tablet and if everything is ok it should work perfectly after that.It would be nice if the manufacturer would also put that in the manual, because when I received my tablet I had to calibrate the screen and that didn't really help me. Also the tablet was working really slow and took a lot of time for everything, plus the fact that the keyboard kept pressing all sorts of other keys then that I wanted to press.I hope this will help you and that your tablet will work fine for you.Let me know if you had any success.

Question edited for clarity. You can't. You have to fix the Volume button first as it is the thing that initiates the reset. But you can try the volume Up button instead. Some version of Android will work with either or both Up and Down.
