Resetting the Printer to Factory Default

Settings

Resetting the printer to factory default settings can be useful when

you are troubleshooting with the printer.

CAUTION Resetting factory defaults clears the page buffer, removes downloaded

fonts and macros, and returns all print menu settings to factory defaults.

To reset the printer to factory default settings

1 Press MENU until RESETS MENU displays.

2 Press ITEM until RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS displays.

3 Press SELECT until the following message appears:

RESTORING

FACTORY SETTINGS

This message displays until the printer has completed the initialization

Not detecting paper on top of the glass

if you are trying to scan/copy a receipt of something else that is smaller, try to tape it to a regular sheet of paper before you copy it. then the unit can detect the paper size.

Problem with my printer

When you reboot your machine the print spooler service should restart on its own. If this does not solve the problem you can go to the services panel and manually restart the service:Start > Run > type services.msc > Hit Enter > Scroll down to Print Spooler > Right click the service and hit restartThe above solution will only allow you to do this if you are an administrator on your machine.

Hp officejet4500status says printing but not printing

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Incompatible ink cartridge ho 4500

I have had simlar problems with other brand inks on epson printer a guy in a computer shop were I bought the ink from told me to take the ink out wipe the chip with a clean cloth wipe in one direction, also your ink when new has a piece of thin plastic that now has a small hole in it as you have taken it out from printer put a small piece of sellotape over hole other wise printer will think you are putting old cartridge in again you might need to do this a few times, but bear in mind that this was done with an epson printer but it doe's solve the problem when it crops up from time to time.

Printer will not print from

Are you using Internet Explorer to print your e-mail or do you use a different browser?

If you are using Internet explorer. try to run the Internet Explorer in administrator mode and verify if you are able to print.

To run Internet Explorer as administrator, follow the steps below:

1. Click on Start.
2. Click on All Programs.
3. Right click on Internet explorer and click on run as administrator.

Also try to turn off protected mode and verify if you are able to print from Internet explorer.

To turn off Protected mode follow the steps below:

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
2. From the Internet Explorer 7 command bar, choose Tools and then Internet Options.
3. In the Internet Options window, click on the Security tab.
4. Below the Security level for this zone area, and directly above the Custom level and Default level buttons, uncheck the Enable Protected Mode checkbox.
Note: Disabling Protected Mode requires a restart of Internet Explorer 7, as you may have seen next to the checkbox in this step.
5. Click OK on the Internet Options window.
6. If you're prompted with a Warning! dialog box, advising that The current security settings will put your computer at risk., click the OK button.
7. Close Internet Explorer 7 (or later version) and then open it up again.
8. Try again to visit the web sites that were causing your problems to see if resetting the Internet Explorer 7 security settings on your computer helped.

My hp deskjet 2300 printer is not printing. its says in the desktop it is printing

  1. Click and select. (Settings) > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your product and click Manage.
  3. Click Printer properties.
  4. Select the Ports tab.
  5. Select the Enable bidirectional support checkbox and click OK.
