I lost my cord and would like to make a basic
on a 4 wired RJ11 or Rj12 Phone plug, it's the middle 2 wires. green and red are your positive and neg. Do a quick touch test to confirm which is pos and neg. only works one way. after confirmed. solder the wires and wrap insulation tape around each and then a couple times over both for strength. the phone wire is prone to breakage.
Blinks service required constantly
This means that your V995 has repeatedly failed its internal self-calibration procedures. Like the message says, you need to send it to Beltronics for service.

You may have a voltage issue.Try to reset your detector. Hold the city and bright buttons until it resets. This should solve the message problem.
Internal Speaker type/rating?
The speaker is a 28mm diameter 32 Ohm speaker. Bel/Escort now use a newer custom PUI manufactured "high temp" speaker which resolves issues of the speaker blowing out due to high temperatures. Contact Bel/Escort using their online chat feature on their web sites. Likely they will send you a replacement speaker for a cheap price which you can solder in yourself (assuming that your RD is out of warranty).
Take apart 955 beltronics
There are 2 screws you need to remove. The first one is in the corner of the base (flip it over and you will see it). The second screw is under the Beltronics sticker on the base, right below the first hyphen in their USA phone number. If you rub your fingernail around that location, you should feel the depression. I didn't remove the sticker, I just stuck my screwdriver over the sticker and unscrewed it through the sticker. Hope this helps.
