My Dyson DC35 just stopped .

Question edited for clarity and typos. Please don't call a Dyson a 'Hoover' (registered name of Hoover Inc), James Dyson will be very upset. :>D Yes you can buy batteries very easily, but you need ascertain that it is the battery, or the charger, or the control board? With a digital multimeter it is very easy to check battery and charger, but you will need Dyson service to diagnose a board issue. https://www.google.com/search?q=Dyson+DC35+battery ..

Brush on a Dyson DC35 stops rotating. I cleared it of any debris, cleaned off the roller, no obstructions in the tube, and it kept doing it.

I have twice had this intermittent problem of the spinning brush in the Dyson DC35 motorised head starting then stopping after a few seconds, and in both cases it was because of hair getting into the machinery behind the cog that drives the brush bar. It's fairly easy to fix (the only specialised tool required is a small torx-head screwdriver), and I wrote an illustrated step-by-step guide at: http://cusack.eu/2020/12/28/how-to-fix-the-motorised-head-of-a-dyson-dc35-handheld-hoover-that-spins-and-then-stops-while-watching-football/

Put wet filter in dyson DC35 will not run will it dry out

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. The filters in our handheld machines should be washed at least once a month using cold water without detergent. However, they should always be allowed to try completely before they're replaced, which may take at least 12 hours. It can help to place the filter somewhere warm - for example, by a radiator, or in an airing cupboard.Unfortunately, if you have used your machine with a wet filter in place, this is likely to have caused damage to the motor. Using your machine with a wet filter will also have voided the machine's 2-year guarantee.I would encourage you to get in touch with us directly so we can confirm which replacement parts you may need to get the machine running again. You can reach our customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).Best wishes,JackDyson Online Customer Supporthttp://www.dyson.com

My dyson dc35 hand vacuum cuts out constantly while in use despite a full charge and clean filter

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial. There are a number of reasons why your Dyson is acting that way. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this. Dyson dc35 Brushes quit turning after a few seconds--motor keeps running. It does this consistantly. No red flashing lights.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial. There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance. First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing. While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all. Dc33 brush belt not turning

Hi, thought I would add my experience to assist others. My brush bar on my DC35 would run for say 10 seconds and then stop but the motor did not cut out. I solved the problem by removing the brush bar and then undoing the screw of the plastic sprocket the bar end slots into. I prised off the sprocket to find it clogged up with hair! I removed the hair gave it a squirt of GT85 and problem solved :) It was worth investigation before splashing out £50+ on a replacement motorhead assembly.

Hi I have a Dyson handheld vacuum DC35 , when I plug the rechargeable battery in to charge the green light is just flashing and does not seem to hold charge

This means your battery is flat. When charging the battery if the green light on the charger is on then charge is getting to the battery. If the battery isn't holding a charge then you will need to replace the battery.

The trigger on my machine seems to have given out. I press for power and only get a few seconds of *******, then I have to release and press the trigger again. Fixable?

Dyson has a wonderful warranty program. Have you called Dyson to see if your DC35 is still under warranty?

Dyson DC35 doesn't work. when I press power button, only green blinking light is showen.

I had the same exact issue. I'd pill the on trigger and light would blink 1 per second. Called dyson and was told I need a new battery which +tax and h&s would be just under $100 Canadian. Having a bit of electronics background and experience with common household battery operated tools, I thought what is the likely reason for them to think I need a new battery, even if my battery wasn't dead. first and simplest, safe thought was could it be the same thing that happens in your basic flashlights, if not used for a while. That is the connection between battery and device being dirty or obstructed somehow. So, took battery out, saw the 3 connectors has a bit (very little) black on them. Wiped them clean with my finger. Did the same with the 3 connectors on device where battery goes in. Put battery back back in and it was as good as new. No no new battery, no special tools, no fancy work, no repair cost. Wife is very happy and toddlers love using it to help clean.

It keeps cutting out after a few second then comes back on and cuts out agin

Hi, it's Allan at Dyson. Checking the connectors is a good first step because it might be something as simple as dust or debris on the connectors. You can view these by separating the main body and the cyclone assembly. However, for a more thorough diagnosis I would recommend contacting Dyson directly. The Dyson Helpline is on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). How do you disconnect the charger from the base.

Hi there, I'm sorry for the delay in getting back in touch. If you have a look at where the charger sits in the docking station (and therefore where this 'plug end' connects to the machine) you will see that there is a small catch that keeps it in place. You would need to push this catch in to release the plug and you will then be able to remove it from the docking station. It can be quite stiff and the gap it is located in can be quite small for some fingers - very gently using a flat head screwdriver would aid you in this. If you continue to have difficulty, please give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). Our experts will be happy to talk you through some further diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand. All the best, Allan

How do I get my brush to spin again

Hi Theresa, it's Allan at Dyson. There are a few things we can suggest to check. The first may seem simple but is often the most effective. Please have a look at the following video which will show you how to dismantle the head and check for obstructions: https://youtu.be/PeTKPc-9DjU The next thing to try is removing both the wand and floor tool and checking all of the metal contacts for dirt/damage. You can also remove the main body from the cyclone assembly to check the contacts between these two parts. You can view how to do this here: https://youtu.be/RSToNfQoi3c. After this, try connecting the floor tool directly into the machine's inlet. This will rule out any problems with the connection via the wand. If you continue to have any problems, please feel free to give us a call - our contact numbers are: 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

CANT GET PIPE BACK TOGETHER JUST SHORT OF CLICKING

Hi Daisy, it's Jack at Dyson. If you're unable to fit the wand of your DC35 to the bin inlet, it's possible one of the internal seals within the wand is slightly out of place. This could prevent the wand from connecting fully. We'd like to take some further details to confirm whether this is the case, so we'd need to talk you through some quick troubleshooting checks when you have your DC35 easily to hand. If a replacement part is needed, we'll also be able to confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty. You can reach our experts at the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). We'll look forward to speaking with you.
