You'll probably have to replace it. There are videos on youtube that can give you instructions on how to replace it, or you can bring it into a qualified computer repair shop and they can replace it for you.

If those don't work you might want to try the monitor button. Most laptops have them as one of the function keys. Often looks like a projector or a square with some extra lines. Try it with the fn key depressed and also without as fn lock might be on.

Is the HP Tools Partition still on the drive? Right click Computer Left click on Manage Let Computer Management load On the left is Disc Management Click on it and on the right information about your local drives that are installed will load. hi ali That key does not work as an "Apple Fn" key -- it is handled internal to the keyboard, so it is not really a "key." (rather, it modifies other keys) to make them generate different codes. But you can make your function keys swap. See SysPrefs -> Keyboard -> "Use all F1, F2..."

Pls, Try changing the RAM memory and also apply heat to the display chip. Ideally, it is often the memory problem. so replace that.

Try a hard reset. Disconnect the power adapter (charger). Remove the battery. Now press few times the power button. Yes, with no power the laptop will not start but the idea is to drain any residual power left inside your laptop. Put the battery back and try again.
