Why does my Cool Pix S4000 camera rapidly drain the battery while in the off position

It sounds like there is a short circuit in the camera's electronics. Your camera will need to go in for repair. This link will take you to Nikon USA's Service and Support by following this link: Contact Nikon Customer Service Call Nikon Technical Support

How can I keep the picture sharp when zooming in macro

When you zoom in macro with a Coolpix camera, you must change the camera to subject distance to compensate because as you zoom in and out, the depth of focus of the lens changes dramatically.

L26 won't turn on

First, I would check your batteries. Start by removing them and making sure that the battery contacts in the camera and on the batteries are clean. If they are dirty. A new pencil eraser can be rubbed against the contacts to remove any oils or residue. Next, I would make sure your batteries are charged. A quick way is to check is to take them out and put them in another device that takes two AA batteries and see if it works. If the batteries are bad, put two new alkaline (non-rechargeable) batteries in your camera to see if it powers up. If it does and you wish to use those batteries, be sure to go into your menu and set the camera to use alkaline batteries because there voltage output is slightly different from rechargeable batteries . Remember that you cannot recharge those batteries and trying to do so can damage your charger and cause the batteries to explode. If the camera will not power up with new batteries, the camera will need to be sent in to Nikon USA for repair (see the Nikon website for information). If the camera powers up with the substitute batteries, either your rechargeable batteries have gone bad or you camera's battery charger is defective. For problems with the internal charger, it is probably more cost effective to buy an external battery charger then to send the camera in for repair unless your camera is still under warranty. External battery chargers are available for under $20. There is one other possible cause of battery failure. If the camera's internal circuitry has an electrical problem, especially a short circuit, the camera will draw excessive current from the batteries and run them down. If that is the case, you would obviously need to send your camera in for repair.

Instaloacion cd

There should be no installation CD for a Nikon Coolpix s3000. If you connect it to a computer, the computer should see it as an external hard drive. Photo viewing (and some editing) can be done through Nikon's free software. ViewNX 2 from Nikon After that, you will have to find editing software compatible with your computer.

No memory card was in my camera. How can I recover the photos from my camera?

The photos are stored in the camera's internal memory. If you normally transfer your photos to your computer by connecting them with the USB cord, remove your memory card before making the connection. If you normally transfer them by putting the memory card into a card reader, transfer the photos to the memory card using the camera's "Copy" or "Backup" command. If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and specify the model of your Nikon Coolpix camera.

What does out of memory message mean on my nikon coolpix camera?

You have two questions here. Out of memory could mean that your memory card is full and you cannot take any additional pictures until you either replace the card with a new one, or delete or reformat the card you have in it. It could also mean that your card is "locked". Check for the little toggle switch on the side of the card to be sure it is in the "unlocked" position. Or it could mean that you do NOT have a memory card in the camera at all and you're using the very small internal memory your camera comes with (it usually will only hold about 4-5 images. If this is the case, put an external memory card in the camera. The second part of the question deals with uploading to your computer. There are a whole host of reasons that can cause this. Here are a few. 1. Your software is configured incorrectly. It might be set for only a certain type of image (jpg, RAW, TIFF). It might be set to accept duplicate images and your images are already uploaded (somewhere on the machine). 2. It might be that your cord or connection is defective. 3. It might be that the computer is trying to find the external memory card and you don't have one. 4. You software might be looking for videos instead of images. Check your software configuration to be sure its set for image upload. 5. Be sure your battery is fresh. Some cameras will not upload with a weak battery. 6. The camera or software could be defective.

Coolpix broken lcd dose the camera still take pics

If the LCD is the only thing broken then yes, it will still take pictures. You won't be able to see the pictures you take until you transfer them to a computer, and you won't be able to see the menus to change settings.

How do I know the pictures have been saved to the memoriy card

Press the picture review button (triangle pointing to the right). You can review all of the pictures you have taken on the LCD using the left/right buttons to move between pictures. It is a good idea to use the review function frequently. Not only will you know if you got the picture, but, using the delete function, you will be able to remove unwanted exposures and free up space in your memory.

Why would a brand new camera not even turn on first time of use?

Two obvious questions. 1. have you charged the battery? 2. Is it in the slot the right way up? IF it is charged and inserted correctly, then you probably have a faulty camera and should take it back to the shop
