Check your network settingsStart, control panel, networking and sharing center. Click on your connection, properties. Click on TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties. Make sure the settings say to obtain IP address automatically and also for DNS, then reboot the modem and computer. You did not specify if you are using a router.
IP Address
Your ADSL port IP address will be set by your ISP and will be displayed on router status page. Your LAN port IP address is likely to be http://192.168.1.254
All lights are flashing in unison. comcast says I
From my limited experience with this problem, the answer can be yes. If you cannot unplug the modem power plug and reattach it, and then make it "set up" and work, the problem is either a bad line feed or bad modem. The easiest thing to do is try another modem...that will verify if the line is good. If the line is bad, comcast has to fix it for free, to provide your service. It your modem is good, you won't have to replace it and buy another one(however, they may charge a service fee, I'm not sure if or how much- call them and check first). Hope this helps.
Thomson TG585 v8 connection problem
this is way too vague, try power cycling your modem and router. also make sure you have not accidentally hit the standby button (teal oval on front). let me know what lights are on and or flashing and what lights are not. that modem's GUI can be accessed by entering 192.168.100.1 in the browser bar and you may be able to diagnose your problem from there.
