My camera is saying busy

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

You don't need any special software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto on Mac or Windows Photo Gallery.

Err CF I have a Canon

CF stands for compact flash which means you have an error with your memory card. Try removing and replacing your compact flash memory card. If that doesn't work you may need to format your memory card or replace it.

My laptop and desktop does not recognize the canon

Hi.

If the camera USB connection was working before and the problem suddenly happened on two different computers, then it is not a matter of driver.
Try removing the camera batteries. Remove both main battery and coin shaped battery. Allow the camera to rest five minutes with no battery. The power drain may resolve issues caused by accumulation of electrostatic charges.

While camera is OFF turn off the desktop, disconnect power cord, connect back and restart. (I don't think the computer is responsible...just in case do PC power drain and restart to do the same on laptop also remove battery).

Connect back the camera using a DIFFERENT USB cable.

If that still does not work, then one of the contact in the camera USB socket may be faulty. Check if there is a bent pin. If there is nothing visible, then one of the solder joints at the back of the camera may have lost connection. In that case the camera must be disassembled and repaired. If you need to send the camera for repair see the number listed on the owners manual or get a quote online here (working days):Repair. An alternative to repair could be using an external card reader.

Do first the troubleshooting suggested at start of my comment.

Regards.

Lost Installation Software for Canon Rebel XT

I have created an ISO image of my Canon 350D software CD and uploaded it to filefactory.com
You can download it here http://www.filefactory.com/file/aga8gc6/n/EOSv10_zip
You should be able to get a free download slot, keep trying if the server is busy.

If you do not have software which can extract the ISO file, try the excellent CDBurnerXP, completely free from http://cdburnerxp.se

Once you have burned this to a CD, just insert and the Canon installer menu should automatically appear.

Please take the the time to rate this solution.
