When focus the image is not clear

Focus on the nearest edges.. that will give you a "beep" sound which confirms the focus is established. You may need to turn the "beep" sound on from the settings. Hope it helps. Cheers !

Canon A95 "Change Batteries" problem!

You need to use 2100 mAH or 2300 mAh rechargeable batteries - alkaline batteries will not maintain the high level of power required.

Overcharged batteries used in A95. I put new Li ion batteries in my canon A95. Camera would not work after I did this. I took the batteries and tried checking them in a flashlight. When I turned the f

Lin, I'm afraid you are right. The camera should work on 4 AA Alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries. They give about 1,5 V maximal. The Li iOn batteries, almost deliver 2 V each. 4 x 1,5 (6) or 4 x 2 (8) gives a difference of 2 V. that is almost 33% to much. But before you panic, Please first check if the contacts in the camera are clean and shiny. You can clean them (if necessary) with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Don't use anything sharp in or close to a camera. Then insert new alkaline or NiMH barrettes, as shown in the manual and switch it on. If it still does not work, contact a Canon certified repair centre and tell them what you did with the batteries and ask them if the camera is worth repairing. Success

How can i transfer pictures to windows 8.1

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Power wont turn on

Hi, If the camera will not power up then please check the following: 1. That the batteries are inserted correctly. Two should be facing upwards and two downwards. With the camera facing you (upside down) then the first battery on the left should have the positive terminal up, the second down, third up and last one down. If this does not work then ensure the slider switch to close the battery cover is fully closed - sometimes this sticks - as this closes a microswitch. If the camera still does not work then a fuse will have blown in the camera. This would be a very expensive repair. Hope this helps

Only settings display on lcd no image

Hi, This will either be the setting on the DISP button (back of camera) or a failure of the CCD (image processor). If the pressing of the DISP button does not restore the picture then it will be a CCD failure. The CCD failure was a common fault with the Canon A cameras and Canon repaired these free of charge up until a couple of years ago. This can be replaced by a Canon repair centre, however it will be costly. Hope this helps.

Canon powershot SX170IS purole screen

I would take it back to where you bought it, it should still be under warranty. Sounds like a bad rear image sensor. If your really handy with tools, you can find how to repair it on youtube. But I would take it back to the seller. Now if you bought it used, I would try United Camera. I have used United Camera before and found them to be really good. My Canon Powershot A95 now has the problem described in great detail all over the web...purple screen of death..that indicates a highly probable ccd failure. Fresh batteries and new compact flash card

As I recall with mine. I believe my issue was a faulty screen. When I took it to Canon they replaced my screen free of charge and last time I checked it out works fine. With that said, that was still within the repair lifecycle of the camera. There are no guarantees that they will still do that given the availability of parts for that problem. What they might do is allow you to upgrade to a refurbished current model for a small to modest fee. That might be worth it for you if you are on a budget. Image unclear

Try power reset. Also, clean the lens with a piece of chamoise leather, which u can get from a good optician also. Or else, clean with a dry soft tissue paper, toilet paper would not be a bad option. :)

How do i use the panel on the side to take photo's?

What panel on the side? The A95 has an articulated display panel that swings out from the back. Do you mean that one? Or something else?Referring to the diagrams on pages 12 and 13 of the manual at http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0900001277/01/PSA95CUG-EN.pdf, which panel do you mean?
