The repair was made some nine years ago. This suggests that the camera is way beyond its expected life span - retire it, and purchase another.

No Memory Card error

Check to see the largest capacity card that the camera will accept - if you are trying to use cards larger than this, I would expect this error.

Computer will not recognize canon A70 Camera

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

How do you fix a canon power shot A70 whose ccd has been exposed to sunlight? My screen is blank. Will not focus on anything..

If the sensor has been exposed to the sun for a period of time unfortunately it will mean a new camera. I believe the price to replace a sensor is pretty close to getting a new camera.

When I turn on my PowerShot A70, it comes on and

Canon Powershot's error E18 has to do with the lens:
If it appears on a black LCD with E18 written on the corner, it is mostly due to the lens getting stuck while trying to extend. The camera will beep a few times and the LCD will display a little E18 in the lower-left corner. The lens gets stuck in the extended position, and refuses to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off.
I am giving below a link which will help you with E18 problem.

http://www.e18error.com/repair.html

Hope this helps, let me know if you have a proble.
Please do rate and thanks for using FixYa and Best fo luck to get you camera out of E18!

Turn on camera and there is no visible image

Can you see Menu Settigns? If yes, isnt a LCD problem, this last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter. In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details: Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer. Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

When i turn on camera a distorted purple blurry

When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value.
