Windows 7 drver for Canon Powershot A10

You don't need a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

The manual, on page 87 and 88 says that some computers or laptops and even CF cardreaders, need to power down, before CF card is inserted. They advice to check the manual from the cardreader. The manual is still online.

How do I empty a full card

Loading the pictures onto your computer simply copies them, leaving the originals on the camera's memory card. To clear the card, format it in the camera by using the format command in the recording menu, as described in the "Formatting a CF Card" section of the manual (page 83 in my copy). If you need a manual, you may download a copy here.

I'm using windows 7 but it cannot find the driver

Windows Vista or Windows 7, will have problems running some older versions of applications, just because so much has changed under the hood from Windows XP days. Thankfully there is a compatibility mode that can be easily set per application.
To configure the compatibility mode for an application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu.
Select the Compatibility tab:

You can choose to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, or even all the way back to Windows 95 compatibility.
Probably the most useful setting to start off with would be to disable the visual themes and desktop composition, if you can’t get things working. If you are trying to run a video game, you will often need to choose “Run this program as an administrator”. You’ll have to play around with it, but most likely you can get your application working this way.

What does the error code

"E18" seems to be a code related to and barrel extension problems. Its showing because of lens error or you can say stuck lens. Ok now the question is how its stuck? its happens when the lens not ready for work. Some how its not able to
stable his focus method. That's why its stuck. There is a chances of lens guide pin disturbed or damaged & thats why continues failure. Its mean he inform you there is a system error. So please visit the service center for repair that. Its a very common & repairable problem. Thanks.
