Trouble loading the film
Should auto load film and wind all the way out, winding back I one frame as a time as shot. The end of the film must be flats (not bent) and placed within the confines of the red line in the film chamber.
if this doesn't work, the phase switch in the loading gear assembly may need to be cleaned. This is not easy, even for a tech.
Why won't the film load?
There can be a few reasons.
- Have you tried fresh batteries
- Have you pulled the film to the right so when the door closes it pushes the film on to the sprockets?
- Do you hear a sound as though it is or is not loading.

Auto focus confirmation little green dot is blinking
Usually that means it cannot grab focus. That can occur for numerous reasons such as:
- Subject does not have a defined contrast (all one shade of color).
- Too close for the lens to work, each lens has its own limit on close focus.
More information from you will greatly help those that want to assist you.

Camera won't shutter
So that any responder does not repeat steps you have taken, what have you attempted to do to solve this issue?
- Turning on and off the camera sometimes will fix it.
- If you are in AF mode and the camera cannot get focus it will not fire the shutter.
- If it is in a low light area, reason the flash popped up, and the camera cannot find something to focus on it will not fire the shutter.
There are a number of things that can cause this, some nothing to do with an errant camera.
Cordially,
Pictures didnt develop
Hi Steph Johnson,
Numerous things could be the issue. 1, dirty lens, clean the front and back element, 2. The camera focus is not working properly not focusing on the correct spot. So, are you manual focusing or auto focusing? If it is auto then there could be an issue with that. If your are manual focusing are you sure your diopter setting is correct for your eyes, if not then it may appear correct in the viewfinder, yet be off focus.
Do you have a way to check the lens on a DSLR? If so you can try that lens on the DSLR seeing if there is an error with the lens or if it is your film camera.

Camera won't connect to computer
I take it this is not about the Canon XS film camera but some digital camera. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.
