Can't copy files or write to the nec nd 1100a dvd+ rw drive
Hi,
With Windows 98 being such an outdated operating system there is no more support from Microsoft.
You have two options here: You can download a another burning suite that will work on Windows 98. Something like Nero 5 for example. I have provided a link below to download Nero 5 Lite. This should allow you to burn your data to a DVD. Link below >>>>>
http://www.brothersoft.com/nero-5-lite-download-263017.html
Another option is to use the files and settings transfer wizard. If your upgrading the operating system to XP then you can use the wizard which is on the XP disk itself or download the program from Microsoft downloads.
For an in depth look at how to use the files and settings wizard please click on the link below >>>>

If you need anymore help or advice please post back.
Regards.
XP can't find ND-1100A drive
Hi,
Thanks for coming to FixYa, The problem you have is either a well documented software problem or a failing drive.
Click the below link, then scroll down and click the "Fix It" button. Follow the onscreen instructions, restart when it's done and see if your drive re-appears. If it does, you're done, if it doesn't work then your drive is most likely failed and you should replace it.

Door Jam
CD Drives are pretty simple, if you take it out of the computer you can remove the 4 screws around the outside and pull the cover off. At that point the next best bet is to hook it back up to power and try to eject it and watch what happens.
Another option is the take a paper clip and unbend it and put it into the *Tiny* hole in the front of the drive, that's the reset and it may repair it
Nec dvd + rw nd-1100a
first try a audio CD see if ti reads that fine. then inset a data CD and see if you can see all the files on it. Try a few data and audio CD's. If it has trouble with any of these your drive has gone to the great garbage dump in the sky.
More Error Codes
Try a lens cleaner - but yes time to put it out to graze I would imagine
BUS DEVICE RESET FUNCTION
the bus settings may be the settings that have been changed by roxio, if you havent uninstalled the previous burning programme.
Try uninstalling any burning programme you have, restart the pc and install the programme you require.
If it continues you may need to uninstall the drive, by way of :- my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and look down list to dvd/cdrom drives and click '+' sign to your dvd line and right click and uninstall.
Restart pc and it will automaticaly install again, ready for use.
DVD+RW Not recognized as a writable drive
There could be a few things going wrong here, firstly when you send a file using Windows poor inbuilt writing programme, i think you need to use a re writable disc, although i could be wrong, but thats worth a try.
Also go to My computer, right click on your dvd drive and go to properties, then along the top row of tabs, the end one should say 'Recording', click on the tab and make sue that 'Enable CD recording on this drive' is ticked, and just below make sure that the dvd you use is showing in the drop down window.
Finally if you still have trouble, my advice would be to use a dedicated programme for writing to cd and dvd for example Nero burning Rom or Nero 7 being the later version.
In this nero you use your drive as a 'floppy type' drive, where you right click on file and send to and it writes straight to the disk and also enables you to change the file or delete, unlike windows programme.
What software or cords do I need to get/run in order to get files to transfer to/from the NEC Mobilepro 770, or even get internet?
The NEC Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device that was released in the early 2000s and uses Windows CE as its operating system. Since the device is no longer supported, it may be challenging to find software and drivers that are compatible with modern operating systems like Windows 10. Here are some steps you can take to transfer files and connect to the internet:
- Get the necessary cables: You'll need a USB cable to connect the Mobilepro 770 to your Windows 10 PC. The cable should have a USB Type-A connector on one end and a mini-USB connector on the other.
- Install ActiveSync: ActiveSync is software that allows you to synchronize files between your Mobilepro 770 and your PC. Unfortunately, ActiveSync is no longer available for download from Microsoft, but you may be able to find an archived version of the software on the internet. Install ActiveSync on your Windows 10 PC and connect your Mobilepro 770 to your PC using the USB cable. If the device is recognized, you should be able to transfer files between the two devices.
- Connect to the internet: The Mobilepro 770 has a built-in Ethernet port that you can use to connect to a wired network. To connect to the internet, you'll need an Ethernet cable and a wired network connection. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Mobilepro 770's Ethernet port and the other end into your router or modem. You should be able to browse the internet using the Mobilepro 770's built-in web browser.
- Install additional software: The Mobilepro 770 comes with a basic set of software, but you may want to install additional software to make the device more useful. You can download and install software from the internet, but make sure it's compatible with Windows CE and the Mobilepro 770.
Keep in mind that the Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device, and its performance and capabilities may be limited compared to modern devices. It's also possible that some of the software and drivers you need may no longer be available or supported.
