Hi there There are basically three methods of looking at & copying photos from your camera to your PC. 1. Often, and Kodak certainly do, the camera manufacturer will bundle software with the camera, to ease the transfer of photos. Kodak Easyshare is certainly one of those. I would suggest that you use the CD that came with the camera to re-install the software exactly as you did when you first got the camera. If this does not give you back the transfer yo want you could try these methods. 2. Removing the memory card from your camera and inserting it into the card reader slot on your laptop (most modern laptops have a card reader). It does assume that the card you use in the camera is compatible with your card reader. 3. Connect your camera to the laptop via a USB port with the lead which will have been supplied with the camera. In both cases the camera/card will show up in "My Computer" as a removable drive. Which letter it uses will depend upon the configuration of the computer. Double click on this drive and navigate to the folder holding the photos (probably named "DCIM") which will be files in numerical order with the ".jpg" on the end of the file name. These files can then be cut/paste or copy/paste to an appropriate folder on the computer. Most recent versions of Windows will preview these files when they are double-clicked, or in some cases create a slide show of all of them for you. . You're going to face two separate problems here.One, the moon occupies a rather small portion of the night sky. Even fully zoomed in, the moon is going to be not much more than a bright spot in the sky.Two, the camera is designed to assume that almost every scene is an average brightness. Given how much of the scene is a black sky, the camera will attempt to render the sky as average (what photographers call a "medium gray"). This will result in a picture with a gray sky and a featureless white blob for the moon.If you think about it, the full moon is nothing more than a really big rock under a midday sun. Thus what you want is the same exposure as when taking a picture on a clear sunny day. Unfortunately the camera is going to be fooled by all that dark sky and try to compensate for it. What you really need is to be able to bypass the camera's light meter and set the proper exposure yourself. The C195, unlike more sophisticated cameras, doesn't allow you to do so. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

Try removing the battery and memory card for at least 15 minutes. With some cameras, this will reset the camera and lens may clear the error message, as long as there is something that is not physically damaged the camera.

If the pictures were on a memory card and you haven't done anything with the card since you formatted it, you may have a chance to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader connected to your computer and run the program.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
