There are several solutions depending on what the issue really is. The simplest of them is to run the print head cleaning wizard, which comes with your printer software installation CD. This have only a slight possibility to solve the issue, but since it's very simple, you can have a try.
The next solution is applicable when you have ink clogged in your print head. It may happen due to several reasons like leaving the printer unused for a long time or if the print head was kept in inverted position during packing and storing etc. In that case, remove the print head, and place it in warm water (1/2 to 3/4 inch) for a few minutes. Care should be taken to avoid too much water getting into the print head. You will see ink leaking out to the water. Take the print head out and put it back in the printer after wiping and see if it works. You should try a few test prints as the first few prints will not be clear due to the water in the print head.
If none of the above two works, then you can't go for a economic repair. The best thing now is to replace the print head. But, before doing all this, try contacting your dealer or the HP, if the printer is still under warranty. They will solve the problem for free if it is so.

Locate the Start / Programs / Lexmark X5150 Series / Tools / Uninstall Lexmark x5150 Series shortcut.
3 To start the uninstallation procedure click on the Yes button.

To start eh installation procedure click on Run button.After you finish installing the program,
Restart the computer.
To start your printer go to Start/ Devices and Printers ,Select the printer icon and drag and drop it on the main screen of the computer,double click on the icon to start the application.

First of all, Remove all the cartridges, turn off the machine, disconnect both usb cable and power cord from the unit, wait for few minutes (10 mins), reconnect the power cord, again turn back on the printer, reinstall all the cartridges, check the status once again and if the problem persists, try to check for broken pieces of or other foreign particles like thread or hair. You'll need to pull out both the front and the rear tray (Input and output tray), look carefully and if possible use a blower to blow through the passage, from top to front or from front to top. Once again, turn off the machine and turn back on and check the status. If the problem persists follow the instructions here (click here).

Please do this slowly and make sure you wait as mentioned above. Even if you don't see actual paper, something might have been interrupted the sensor, it'll be cleared after few attempts.

Unplug then replug the power adapter of the printer. The power adapter is the rectangular black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Make sure to plug printer to a power outlet with the correct power specification. Bypass surge devices or power strips.
